Charming holiday cottage near to Villedieu-les-Poeles, Normandy, France

La Haute Hague offers you a choice of three charming and family friendly cottages - the Cidrerie (1 bedroom), the Stables (3 bedrooms. Low season 1 bedroom option available ) and the Longère (available as either 3 or 4 bedroom property).  The fourth property at La Haute Hague is the Farmhouse where the owners live on site.

Each cottage has been luxuriously furnished to provide the perfect family home from home. The kitchens are fully equipped with high-quality appliances and the upper floors are spacious, carpeted and comfortably furnished. 

Additionally The Stables is perfect for those guests requiring ground floor accommodation as it offers a downstairs twin bedroom with an en-suite shower and toilet!

Broadband internet is available in each cottage via Wifi.

La Haute Hague is set in 3 acres of delightful shared gardens and grounds which provide a safe environment for children to run and play as well as sunny and shady spots to relax in. Each property has excellent views; of the large lawn at the front which is suitable for all sorts of sports and games and to the rear overlooking the surrounding fields and valley.

Guests are invited to use the sunroom and barbecue area or to use one of the mobile barbeques in order to dine alfresco during the long summer evenings. A selection of seating and tables can be found around the grounds.

Yours hosts – Paul and Lisa live in the Farmhouse at La Haute Hague, ensuring that the cottages are maintained in perfect condition..  During the week, Lisa works for a French bank and Paul looks after  the property and gardens.  In the evenings they are often in great demand  to make up numbers for Badminton or football, which is frequently played on the large front lawn but  they are equally happy to remain at a distance to respect guests' privacy.

There are plenty of things to do and places to see in the area, and La Haute Hague is ideally located for these attractions.  For instance, the seaside town of Granville with its miles of sandy beaches is just 20 minutes away, the world famous island monastery at Mont-st-Michel is just 45 minutes away and within 60 minutes are the Normandy Landing Beaches as well as the town of Bayeux with the famous Bayeux Tapestry. 

For the golf enthusiast, there are two courses at Granville, and one lakeside course at St Manvieu Bocage, on the route to Vire. 
All three courses are approximately 30 minutes distance by car from La Haute Hague.

Whilst prices are per property and arrival/departure dates in the high season are specified, Paul and Lisa are happy to discuss discounts for group bookings and if possible different arrival/departure dates outside of high season if required. Holiday Accommodation at The Longère

The Longère  is a 3 or 4 bedroom cottage sleeping 6 or 8 people (prices quoted as a 3 bedroom property) making it perfect for large families or two families or friends sharing. Originally a farmhouse barn The Longere has been lovingly converted to the highest standard  and is filled with traditional features including beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls  The addition of high quality modern fittings and comfortable furniture has produced a pleasing blend of both old and new. On three floors the Longère offers:

Ground Floor

• Kitchen - fully fitted modern kitchen overlooking a dining area complete with traditional oak farm house dining table.
• Living room - with comfortable seating and a large oak chest containing books and games.  French doors open onto a sunny wooden terrace overlooking gardens and valley.

First Floor

• Two double bedrooms - both large and comfortable
• Shower room - large family shower room comprising shower, toilet and handbasin.

Second Floor

• Twin bedroom - with en-suite comprising shower, toilet and handbasin.
• Further twin bedroom - available when property rented as a 4 bedroom accommodation.

All bedrooms are luxuriously carpeted. Bedding and bed linen are provided.

Towels are available when booked in advance for a small additional fee.

Oil fired central heating available.

For small children, a Baby Pack including travel cot, high chair and stair gates can be hired at a small additional cost when requested in advance.

About Fleury in Manche, Normandy

Whilst in the countryside La Haute Hague is at the same time close to both the A84 and the D7 roads. making it ideally placed for exploring the delights of Normandy. Nearby is the historic and busy town of Villedieu-les-Poeles (5 minutes) which is famous for its copperware and where you will find numerous bars, pavement cafes and restaurants as well a large weekly market.

The coastal town of Granville (25 minutes) as well as being a lovely shopping centre has miles of sandy beaches, numerous restaurants and a casino.

Further to the south is the delightful town of Avranches (20 minutes) and to the north and east, Countances (25 minutes) with its magnificent cathedrals, Bayeux (1 hour) with its tapestry and Caen (1 hour) with its shopping centre and museum.
