Picturesque stone farmhouse in Saint André de Najac.

In rustic style with beautiful old detail, 21st century comfort, a luxury pool with roman stairs and a breath taking view. Overlooking the valley of the Sérène river. Sleeps 2 people.

The house is situated on the outskirts of the hamlet Saint André de Najac, build of granite blocks. It has a large flowery terrace and steps leading down to the pool (12 x 5 x 1.2 - 1.8m depth). The pool has Roman steps and underwater lightning, and to the large courtyard; 3 hectares to walk and picnic. La Pendarie is in a peaceful, relaxing country setting.

The welcoming owners (a Dutch couple, 46 & 59), speak English, French and Spanish. They live in the barn next to the farmhouse and - if wanted - will help you to explore this fascinating area. They might occasionally take a swim in the pool as well.

The farm house has 1 bedroom, 1 dress room and sleeps 2 people. It is well equipped with:

• Sitting area - nicely furnished with comfortable sofa, chairs, a romantic fire place and DVD, and CD player.
• Dining area - cosy and intimate.
• Fully fitted kitchen corner - with electric oven / gas hobs, dishwasher and microwave oven.
• French windows to private terrace with barbecue outside table, chairs and steps to pool area.
• Separate utility room under the terrace - with a washing machine.
• Beamed rooms at the completely tiled 1st floor.
• Romantic bedroom equipped with a comfortable double bed.
• Dress room with ironing facilities.
• Fully tiled bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet.
• Central heating in every room of the cottage.
• Sun beds, chairs, barbecue and outdoor table at the pool.
• Wi-Fi available.

About the location

Village
La Pendarie is part of the cosy and peaceful hamlet of Saint André de Najac (500 m). In the peaceful hamlet,  5 minutes walk from La Pendarie there is a restaurant called  Mont Le Viaur and a Vival grocery store with fresh French bread, meat, cheese, vegetables and all necessities for your first shop. And the bakery comes down to La Pendarie on Tuesdays and Saturdays around 10 o'clock in the morning. You can play tennis at the well maintained tennis court in the village and enjoy a Pastis (or a Guinness) afterwards at La Croix Grande a bar with a terrace covered with wine grapes (open from Thursday-Sunday at 18:00h).

In one of the valleys next to the village, the Viaur river offer a peaceful and romantic place to picnic and there are also areas to swim. There is also a Jazzy crêperie with live music under the stars, every single summer night in July and August.

More shops, markets and restaurants
Shops and nice restaurants are at La Fouillade (6 km), Laguepie (8 km) or at the very picturesque Najac (6.5 km). In La Fouillade there is a big Intermarche. Najac clings to the rocky outcrop overlooking the splendid gorges of Aveyron river and is particularly lovely at night with its illuminated castle. A wide choice of shops at Villefranche de Rouergue (24 km) with the famous and large Thursday market in the fine arcaded square. Almost every day of the week there are markets in one of the villages around Saint André de Najac. Through out the summer, brocantes are held in different villages nearby.

Additional price information

• All prices are in Euro and applicable during 2012.
• Including linen.
• A deposit of 25% is requested on booking, with the remainder at latest 8 weeks before arrival.
• A security payment of €200  which is returnable, is due at the same time as balance of rental.
• At the change over day, the leaving guests are requested leave at 10:00 hours in the morning at latest, and the arriving guests are requested not to arrive before 16:00 hours in the afternoon. This permits us to fully prepare La Pendarie for the new guests.
