About the location

Jard Sur Mer is a small seaside resort nestling amongst miles of golden sand 'blue flag' bathing beaches between the larger resorts of La Tranche Sur Mer and Les Sables d'Olonne. There are four gently sloping sandy beaches in walking distance. The two largest beaches (Boisvinet & La Mine) have lifeguards during the season.

The town centre is only ten minutes walk and comprises a picturesque network of small streets bordered by old Vendéean houses and pretty bungalows. A range of shops and restaurants are available in the town and at the port. A walk to the market in the town centre every Monday provides a marvellous free insight into the French lifestyle.

The forests with their sweet smells of jasmine and honeysuckle, together with the rolling countryside, provide a tranquil backdrop to the town. The pine forests which run immediately behind the beaches provide many trails which can be followed to nearby villages. There are many local places to explore on foot or by bicycle and the property is ideally situated as a base for visiting a whole host of attractions throughout Vendée all year.

Sun lovers, bathers and water sports enthusiasts will appreciate the brilliant clarity and fine weather of the Cote de Lumiere (Coast of Light) in this special 'micro climate' which provides similar amounts of sunshine to the Cote d'Azure.

People love to unwind at Jard and hate to leave the small friendly community, where visitors are given a warm welcome. If you want to wander in the forest, to sit on the beach or have a great round of golf with the sun on your back, come and soak up some memories to cherish during those long winter evenings back at home.

How to get here

The property is about two and a half hours driving time from the western Channel port of St. Malo or four and a half hours driving time from Caen or Cherbourg.  If you prefer to fly the the property is about a one hour drive from the airports at Nantes or La Rochelle.
