Villa Vallespir is an authentic "Catalan" house, full of charm and character, originally built in the 19th century by a vine-growing family.

Behind the old and original stone frontage and the azure wooden shutters, is concealed a large master house of 170m² with 150m² of private terracing, a charming and not overlooked swimming pool and a private garden.

Accommodation detail

The villa has recently been tastefully restored to the highest modern standards, and will comfortably sleep 8.

Ground floor:

• Garden has a grass area and is a good play area for games. It is also a nice place for relaxing, under the cypress and the orange tree.
• Utility room can also be found on this level, where there is a washing machine, and the house cleaning materials.
• You can park your car securely inside the villa's garage with automatic sliding doors.

First floor

• Large open plan and very bright room of 80 m² welcomes visitors. All modern comfort is at your disposal, with 2 sofas, wide-screen TV, DVD player with a selection of films, and a stereo.
• Drawing room - around the wood burning fire has been recently decorated with magnificent Catalans woven curtains. These handcrafted drapes are made in nearby St Laurent-de-Cerdan in the pure tradition of old Catalan weaving. They are the pride of the Catalan people and are sold in Paris, Madrid and Tokyo.
• Dining room has a large wooden table, 8 people are comfortably accommodated. The Dinning room is also decorated with the same "Toiles du Soleil" Catalan drapes.
• Large American kitchen - close to the dining room, fully equipped to the highest standards of comfort. A dishwasher, fridge - freezer, electric hob, with extractor fan, electric oven and microwave are all provided. In fact it has everything you would need to self cater.
• First floor bedroom is flexible, in that it can be used to sleep up to 2 people, or alternatively for an office, or simply a place to relax and read.
• Separate toilet with wash basin on this level.

Second floor

• Master bedroom is equipped with a king-size double bed, a large wardrobe and is air-conditioned. This bedroom is large enough to fit a child's cot, which can be provided on request
  From the window, you can admire the Albères Mountains, the last part of the Pyrenees, which also acts as the frontier between France and Spain.
• Second bedroom is also equipped with a double bed. The typical Catalan windows overlook the magnificent Roussillon Plain, the vineyards and the sea is in the background.
• Children's bedroom on this floor has 2 single beds and a large wardrobe.
• Mezzanine - an additional place to relax is also available on the mezzanine, which is up the stairs from the lounge.
• Bathroom is equipped with a large bath and a wash basin. Toilet and bath towels are provided.
• Separate toilet.

Outside:

• If you want to enjoy the sun and the sweetness of the Catalan climate, the first floor terrace is waiting for you …
• Kitchen doors open out directly to a large terrace of 150 m². Trees and evergreens generously set up the area. A table and chairs are at your disposal to take meals outside on the much needed half-shade of the house.
• The second part of the terrace houses a private swimming pool (8 by 4 m's ) which is fully enclosed with lockable gates making it safe for families with young children. The swimming pool is surrounded by the original ancient walls of the villa which give a "typical cachet" to it.
  The pool is fully maintained for your enjoyment. The pool is surrounded by a patio and has sufficient space for sunbathing and complete relaxation. Sun beds are provided.
• A garden table and chairs enable you to enjoy a welcome fresh drink or perhaps a relaxing breakfast overlooking the pool.
• An outside, kitchen adjacent to the pool is equipped with barbecue and fridge, to ensure you take advantage of our beautiful climate.

About the location

A traditional but luxurious house, in a very private and tranquil location in the heart of the small village of Fourques, where you will find a patisserie, butcher, chemist and post office.

The villa is almost equidistant, about a 10 minute drive between two of the more select villages of the region namely Thuir and the Picasso made famous Ceret. In these you will find large supermarkets, an English speaking doctor, great restaurants cafes and bars, art galleries, museums, in fact everything you might require. The markets on Saturday morning in either location are an absolute must.

Additional price information

• House cleaning €50. This charge is levied on all bookings and covers the complete house clean on departure.
• Wine tours 10e per person (children welcome). Lunch at the winery is 14e extra per person.  
• Linen pack £6 per person per week. This includes all bed linen a bath and a hand towel. Should your holiday be of more than 1 weeks duration you can opt for the one week pack and wash your own linen during your stay.
