Large traditional stone villa with pool and terraced garden on the Corsican west coast. Corsica is one of Europe's last, genuinely unspoilt territories and a truly stunning island with over 600 km of fantastic beaches. The west coast is generally considered to be the best with lush mountains dropping off into the crystalclear waters of the mediterranean sea.

The village of Appricciani is 15 minutes away from several easily accessible beaches that are among the best in Europe. The islands southern capital,  Ajaccio, wich among other culturally interesting points has the Napoleon museum, good shopping and a hectic nightlife, is 45 min away. World famous Piana and Cargese is less than an hour with car. Just outside Piana is the world heritage site "Les Calanches", a must if visiting the island.

The highest peaks on the island, often snowcapped even in summertime, surrounds the area, and pristine rivers are cutting stunning gorges in the valleys. The world-famous hiking route GR 20 is accessible from various starting points just a few miles from the house. The possibilities for hiking in the mountains, escalades, canyoning or swimming in unspoilt rivers and creeks are almost unlimted.

About the location

The villa "Marie-Clorinde" is situated at 430m above sea level in the small, typically Corsican village of Appricciani on the beautiful west coast of the island. Nearest village is Vico, 5 min by car, with shops, bars, bank, doctor, pharmacy, bakeries, restaurants etc. There is a small and very friendly bar in Appricciani where you can have a pastis, pizza and play some boules.

10 min by car upphill from the house you reach the pristine river Liamone where you can swim in crystalclear waters in splendid isolation.

15 min downhill you reach the more touristic area of Sagone with 3 of the best beaches on the island. On the beach in Sagone there is a dive shop where you can sign on for dive trips in the area and also rent windsurfers and jet-skis, on another beach there is very good surfing.

In Sagone and sorroundings there are several restaurants, 3 supermarkets, various shops and a few small hotels. Mountain hikes, fishing and promenades are easily accessible from the house.

Boat trips to the world-famous Calanches in Piana depart weekly from the small fishingport in Sagone.

Ajaccio airport is 45 minutes away and is operated with several flights daily by Air France from Paris, Nice, Marseilles, Toulon etc.

All major car rental companies are represented at the airport or in town.

Car/passenger ferries from various ports in both Italy and France daily.

Charter flights depart from Uk directly to Ajaccio and other destinations on the island.
