Buigny - a very pretty typical property of Northern France, well equipped, super large family garden with a sunny south-west facing terrace. Accommodation provided for up to 9 (8 comfortably).

Buigny is well placed for Abbeville (10mins), the historic town of St Valery Sur Somme (15 mins), Crotoy (20 mins) and Rue, Rouen, Hesdin, Montreuil and St Omer - further afield - Paris about 2.5 hours.

The area provides plenty of entertainment from countryside walks in parks and woodland to steam railway at St Valery, local golf and horse riding, flying from Abbeville aerodrome, boat trips from St Valery and Crotoy and trips to battlefields.

Accommodation detail

The property is a typical long low dwelling that is so characteristic of this part of northern France, being white painted with a peg tiled roof.  It is set in about an acre of garden, half being laid to lawn and the other half sloped and wooded.

The ground floor consists of

• Kitchen/dining room with separate siting room and both have french doors onto a large south facing patio. The dining table will seat 8. There is a traditional woodburning stove in the kitchen/dining area.
• Sitting room has a large sofa suitable for use as a single bed and there is an additional sofa bed.
• Master bedroom
• Twin bedroom
• Bathroom
• Separate WC
• Cellar under the kitchen

Stairs lead up to the first floor leading to

• Bedroom with double and single bed and room for another bed if required.

Outside

• Large sunny terrace which faces south-west is quite private and perfect for sitting out and eating in good weather. There are hammocks, deckchairs and garden furniture available.

About the location

Buigny is situated in the small pretty village of Buigny St Maclou close to the town of Abbeville 10 mins, Le Crotoy 20 mins, Paris 2 ½ hours and the medieval town of St. Valery is just 15 minutes away.

St Valery has a great Sunday morning market well worth a visit also in St Avlaery are some fine restaurants and shops and a narrow guage steam train can be taken to Crotoy accross the salt marshes where some more traditional and trendy restaurants can be found.

The nearest supermarkets can be found at Abbeville or Nouvion en Ponthieu both approx 10 mins by car.  Although there is no boulangerie in the village of Buigny a deluvery van comes round at least twice per day and other regular delivery vans include meat, fish and vegetables; no milk though!

Buigny St Maclou is situated just to the south of the N1 about 5 kilometres to the north-west of Abbeville and takes about 1 hour 30 mins from Calais.
