Chateau Bavolier is an 18th century Louis XVI chateau with a peaceful setting at the edge of a village on 5 acres of land.
Perfect for a romantic break - where else can you pay B&B rates to sleep in a four poster bed under a chandelier? We only rent two rooms, making it perfect for those wanting calm and seclusion.
We welcome children.
Convenient for Bordeaux to as a stop off for those driving to South France or Spain.
Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at The Master Suite
The Master Suite is an exceptionally spacious and imposing room with views to three sides from the tall traditional windows.
The centrepiece is a large four poster brass bedstead. Legend has it that it was originally commissioned for a Moroccan princess. With its flowing canopy and soft pillows, it is likely to be the most romantic bed you've ever slept in.
Other furniture in the room includes a marble wash basin, a Louis XVI dressing table, a Louis XVI painted armoire and a sofa. The finishing touch is the glittering 6ft crystal chandelier.
There is an en-suite bathroom/toilet. This features a sunken bath, where guests can unwind looking out over the back garden and gate house.

About St Christoly De Blaye in Gironde, Aquitaine
We are located on the outskirts of the small but bustling village of St Christoly.
We are within 2 minutes drive of Lac du Moulin Blanc. This has a great bathing beach and a restaurant/bar/pizzeria. There is a childrens' play area.
Blaye is within 10 minutes drive. A particular highlight of the town is the 17th century Citadel overlooking the Gironde estuary.
Bordeaux is 30-40 minutes drive away.
Being in the heart of the Cote de Blayais wine region, there are many opportunities for wine tasting. For gourmands, we can recommend some outstanding local restaurants.

| Other | During balmy summer evenings, guests may enjoy unwinding on the terrace, or to take a stroll through the informal garden which surrounds the house. Tables, chairs, hammocks and recliners are provided in the front part of the garden. Our younger friends will love exploring the garden, and have a small playground area provided. Additionally, there is a dining room and a sitting room provided for guests' use. Balancing dramatic French decor and modern comfort, these rooms feature restored frescoes and a grand piano, as well as cosy sofas and a small library of English books. There is private parking available for guests. |
