French Holiday Cottage Gite in the Charente with Pool

La Petite Maison has now been running successfully for 10 years so if you are looking for somewhere tranquil with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside then why not try us for your holiday or house hunting trip where you can sit by the pool and enjoy lots of alfresco dining.

Even though we are in the country we are only 4 kms from Chasseneuil where there are 2 supermarkets and 15kms from Rochefoucauld with its stunning 11th century chateau. The cathedral city of Angoulême is just 36Kms with its cobbled streets full of bars and restaurants or for those of you who are more energetic there are lots of sport available in the area- walking, fishing sailing, riding,kayaking golfing or you can take out our bicycles for a trip.

The cottage consists of a lounge 2 double bedrooms 1 twin room an open plan kitchen dining area, shower room separate WC.

The lounge has comfortable sofas, English free view TV, Cd player DVD player, board games.

The kitchen diner has large pine buffet with matching table and chairs There is a hob, fridge microwave mini oven along with a wood burner for those cool evenings.

Outside there a large terrace covered by a pergola , garden furniture , stone barbecue leading down to a 10m by 5 mt pool (depth 1.2 mt-1.7mt) with roman steps. Sun lounger, hammocks everything you need to relax in the sun. The pool is fenced for safety reasons.

There is also a room containing an old bread oven where you will find the freezer and lots of things for pool also bicycles and scooters for the children along with garden games, boules,croquet.

At the back of the main house there is a utility room with washing machine ironing facilities etc also an additional shower.

In our very large 5 acre garden there is lots of space for ball games and swings and slide for the children. We can also supply cot highchair and most items for babies.

Holiday Accommodation at La Petite Maison

The cottage consists of a lounge, 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, an open plan kitchen and dining area, shower room and separate WC.

• The lounge has comfortable sofas, mini cd system, playstation and English Freeview TV.
• The kitchen/diner has a pine buffet unit with matching table and 6 chairs. There is a hob, microwave, mini oven and fridge. There is also a wood burner for those winter evenings.

Outside there is a terrace with garden furniture, complete with a pergola and stone barbeque to enjoy our lovely sunny evenings. The terrace leads down to a 10m x 5m pool (depth 1.2m - 1.7m) with roman steps. The pool, which is shared with the owners, is fenced for safety.

There is also a large utility room at the back of our house, which has a washing machine, iron, etc.

The cottage sleeps six but a cot could easily be fitted into either of the double rooms. We can supply a cot and a highchair if required.

How To Get To Suaux in Charente, South West France

By Car
If you take the ferry or chunnel to Calais you will have around a 6 hour drive, a lot of it on Autoroutes or other good roads. You can obviously use any of the other channel ports, some of which are closer, but the journey time will be longer as the roads are not so fast.

By Air
Limoges airport is only a 45 minute drive, and is served by Ryanair and Flybe on a daily basis. Some great bargains can be had!

Limoges is served by four of the major hire car companies.

By Train
You can take the Eurostar to Paris, and then transfer to the TGV to Angoulême. There you can pick up a hire car, or we are only a 15 minute taxi ride away.
