This detached traditional 18th century French town house originally a cafe/auberge is located in the historic town of St. Valery sur Somme.

La Valerienne is 100 metres from the bay and is within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants located here. The pretty town of St Valery is within easy reach of many fine beaches along the Cote d'Opal coast as well as many other places of historic interest inland.

About the location

La Valerienne is conveniently situated in St. Valery which was the point from which William the Conqueror set sail for England and is still a traditional fishing port which also provides a fine Sunday market for local smallholders and others and which must not be missed for its great atmosphere and local delicacies.

There is plenty to see in this splendid area, the old town of St Valery with its castle ramparts and the slightly newer areas with interesting shops and restaurants. A steam train can be taken to Crotoy on the other side of the bay, whilst the nearest beach for swimming is about 20 mins by car.

This town has a nice friendly atmoshpere whilst remaining quiet but with masses to do around the area.

How to get here

From Calas follow the A16 autoroute towards Abbeville. Exit at Bernay en Ponthieu. Take the N1 towards Abbeville and turn right at Nouvion, direction Noyelles/St. Valery. Follow the road into Noyelles keeping to the right and just after the railway crossing you arrive on the main Le Crotoy/ St. Valery road. Turn left and at the first roundabout turn right towards St. Valery. At the second roundabout turn right and follow this road (RN40) through the town along the harbour.
