Thriving in this sun-baked landscape, the gnarled olive tree has come to symbolise Provence.
The mighty River Rhone marks its western boundary, emptying into the Mediterranean across the vast wetlands of the Camargue.

The house is set in a quiet residential area, comprising 53 properties, secured by an electronic gate.

This house can accommodate 4 people.

There are

• Two bedrooms - one with a double bed and one with two large bunk beds (suitable for adults).
• Kitchen - very well equipped and includes a microwave oven, a gas cooker, washing machine, dishwasher a large fridge, and two freezers (one large deep freeze and a small freezer).
• Living room - with a TV set or TV ard video recorder, and a radio with CD player. The room also has a ceiling fan .

There is also a large ceiling fan in the double bedroom and a smaller portable fan in the other bedroom.

• Well equipped bathroom has a safety handle near the bath

Outside

• 7.50 x 15m swimming pool (1 min walk from the house), which is available to the other residents  in the complex .
• and a 57m² terrace. Teak garden furniture.

About the location

Located 10 minutes walk from the centre of Vaison la Romaine, this beautiful and well equipped house is the perfect place to relax and from which to explore this celebrated region of the south of France.

Wealth and ideas have flowed along this natural highway down the ages, with many cultures leaving their mark. Marseille, France's largest port, was founded by Greeks and lies on ancient trade routes. At Aix, Arles, St-Remy-de-Provence and Orange impressive Roman remains survive and the papal influence is ever-present at Avignon and Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Cote du Rhone vineyards abound. But it is the humble olive which has become synonymous with Provence. To the north, in the Drome, the olive capital of Nyons lies near attractive hill-walking country around the intriguing Foret de Saou. The town is famous for refining the olive's precious oil into every product imaginable, while neighbouring Montelimar, in the Rhone Valley, made its name from a sweet confection of local almonds and nougat. West of the Rhone, the limestone Ardeche rises steeply. Here, villages cling to the rock, canoeists enjoy white water in the gorges and underground caverns invite exploration.

South of Mont Ventoux's white profile, in the Vaucluse, lie Fontaine-de-Vaucluse with its astonishing spring, the artists' village of Gordes, red Roussillon and Apt - capital of the Luberon regional park, whose lovely scenery and villages - Menerbes, Oppede, Lacoste and Bonnieux among them - were immortalised by Peter Mayle in A Year in Provence.

Eastwards, the rugged empty landscape rises towards the Verdon regional park and its breathtaking gorges. Not to be missed is the village of Moustiers-Ste-Marie and the spectacular viewpoints around about.
