Spectacular Barn Conversion with Heated Pool

This one hundred and fifty year old barn has recently been converted to provide a comfortable retreat from the stresses of modern living.

We have kept many of the original features and have reused much of the original materials, while sympathetically creating a modern home with all the conveniences you could desire.

The property is surrounded by gardens and patio areas on three sides, while the 10 metre heated swimming pool has been sited to enjoy the sunshine throughout the day.

Enjoy exclusive use of Le Mas and its gardens, terraces and pool. Covered parking is available for two or three cars.

Holiday Accommodation at Converted Barn

Downstairs:

• Large double aspect lounge - with exposed stonework and beams. Feature fireplace with wood burner. French windows leading to the south patio and lawned garden on one side and the sun terrace and swimming pool on another. 3 x three seat sofas, 42 inch Plasma TV & DVD player, satellite digibox with free-to-air English channels and French TV. Bookcase, with a collection of books. Desk. Handmade oak staircase leads to the first floor. Two steps down leads to self-contained ground floor bedroom annex.
• Large dining kitchen - well equipped with anything you might need for your stay. A range of solid oak modern kitchen units. American style fridge/freezer with ice and filtered water dispenser. Electric Oven, Induction Hob, Dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, and good selection of crockery and cutlery. Solid Ash farmhouse table and chairs seats ten people. Leads to:
• Utility Room - with sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. Separate W.C

A door and short corridor separates the lounge from the ground floor bedroom annexe, which contains:

• Bedroom 1 - a double bedroom with french doors leading to rear terrace and pool. Single day bed sleeps a third person. En-suite bathroom with vanity unit, toilet and bath with shower.
• Bedroom 2 - a double bedroom with french doors leading to side garden and terrace. Single day bed sleeps a third person. En-suite bathroom with vanity unit, toilet and bath with shower.
• Bedroom 3 - a twin bedroom with french doors leading the the side garden and terrace. En-suite shower room with vanity unit, toilet and shower.

Upstairs

The galleried landing stetches the full width of the lounge, and leads to:

• Master Bedroom - double bedded room with exposed stonework and beams. Window to front aspect. Sitting area with TV/DVD player. Large ensuite with vanity unit, toilet and bath/shower.
• Activity Loft - a light, airy room with a TV and Playstation 2, which can also play DVDs. There is a collection of playstation games. Some books and toys for younger children. Four comfortable chairs can be folded out into low child beds, perfect for nap time.

Outside:

• The property sits within a garden of approximately half an acre, which surrounds the property on three sides. The garden is laid mainly to lawn, with terraces on three sides of the house, taking advantage of the sun and shade throught the day. There is also an outside eating area and barbecue.
• The 10 metre swimming pool has steps at the shallow end. The sun terrace extends around the pool, with a variety of chairs, sun loungers and umbrellas available.

About Surin in Vienne, Poitou Charentes

La Mas is located near Surin, which is close to the Vienne/Charente border. The village boasts a popular pizzeria.

Four minutes drive away, Genouillé has a boulangerie and a bar. A short ten minute drive away, Civray has two supermarkets, banks, post office and all the other facilities you might expect in a busy town. Alternatively, a smaller supermarket is a similar distance south at Champagne Mouton.

If you enjoy getting out and about on holiday, there's plenty to in the local area, as well as further afield.

The Chateau de Ciboux is a ten minute stroll down a quiet country lane.

How To Get To Surin in Vienne, South West France

We are approximately 20km from the N10. (which joins Poitiers to Angouleme).

The nearest channel port is St Malo, which is four and a half hours drive, while Calais and Boulougne are approx. seven and a half to eight hours.

The three closest airports are Poitiers, Angouleme and Limoges. Flights arrive at Limoges from East Midlands, Liverpool, Stanstead and Southampton. Poitiers and Angouleme receives flights from Stanstead.

A little further away, La Rochelle airport has flights from Birmingham and Stanstead and Bordeaux airport receives flights from Birmingham, Luton, Bristol, Manchester and Southampton.

Le Mas is:

• Less than an hour's drive from Poitiers-Biard Airport and Angouleme Brie-Champniers Airport
• One hour twenty minutes from Limoges-Bellegarde Airport.
• Two hours ten minutes from La Rochelle
• Two and a half hours from Bordeaux
