The gite is in a secluded location on the edge of the countryside but only a few minutes drive from the beautiful market town of Oloron Sainte Marie. Recently refurbished to a high standard it offers all the facilities expected in a comfortable holiday home.

Accommodation detail

This two bedroom self-contained property is set within the owners attractive grounds. The property is spacious light and airy and has an open plan ground floor with double doors leading into the garden.

Ground floor

• Lounge - has been sympathetically refurbished with a terracotta tiled floor and a comfortable L shaped settee. There is a bookcase with a comprehensive selection of books and board games. The television has both French and English programmes.
• Kitchen - is modern and spacious with fitted units incorporating gas cooker, fridge microwave and new washing machine. It has double doors overlooking the front of the property.
• Dining area - to the rear of the kitchen is a dining area with pine table and chairs and a small breakfast unit.
• Shower room - a good sized room with constant hot water.
• Separate toilet - with a sink and cupboard above. 

First floor

• Master bedroom - spacious room with a tiled floor. This comprises of a comfortable double bed with bedside units, large wardrobe and a dressing table with a hairdryer. The room has windows on two sides making it light and airy, one window has view of the Pyrenees.
• Second bedroom - also tiled, comprises of twin pine beds with pine wardrobe and dressing table. This also has windows on two sides making it a pleasantly light room.

Outside

The garden at the rear of the property has table and chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue. An added attraction is a Boules area and a full size outside table tennis table for our more energetic guests!

About the location

The property is situated on the outskirts of the lovely town of Oloron Ste Marie. This is a 3 star fleurie town and is a delight to visit at all times of the year. It has a lively market on Fridays where locals gather for coffee and a chat. There are many attractive shops and restaurants. These are all a short drive from the property.

The gite has open countryside beyond leading to some beautiful Pyreneen villages a short distance away. It is also on one of the pilgrim routes of Saint Jacques de Compostelle and so is a favourite lane for walkers.

The ancient town of Pau is just under 1 hour away. This is served by Pau Airport with regular UK flights by City Jet

In the opposite direction is the beautiful S.W. coast with its attractive towns of Biarritz and St. Jean de Luz is 1 1/2 hrs away beyond which is the Spanish border.

How to get here

We are situated at the edge of Oloron-Sainte Marie, a 15 minute walk from the town centre and literally looking out onto the countryside.

Biarritz is served by Biarritz airport, which is serviced from several UK airports. It is about a one and a quarter hour drive from Oloron.

Ryanair now flies into the famous Lourdes airport, a one hour drive to Oloron.
