Seaside Villa near the Beach at Barneville-Carteret

"Villa La Cigogne" is a villa situated in Barneville Plage, in the holiday resort of Barneville-Carteret, on the beautiful Côte des Isles, just 38 kilometres from Cherbourg (on the main route between Cherbourg and Granville).

The villa is suitable for up to 4 adults and 1 child. A large lawned, well fenced garden with lockable gates and mature trees surrounds the property. There is garden furniture including table, chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue.

Holiday Accommodation at Villa La Cigogne

The villa has:

• An elevated main living area with a south facing balcony, French doors lead to a
• Very large through lounge/dining room with modern cane furniture and feature fireplace. It is equipped with colour T.V. which receives both French and British transmissions.
• The modern attractive fitted kitchen is well equipped and includes a fridge and gas cooker and microwave oven.
• Also on this floor is a fully tiled shower room with shower cubicle,  pedestal basin and W.C. and the master bedroom which is furnished with modern fitted wardrobes etc., and has a double divan. 
• The second bedroom which has sloping ceilings is on the second floor and has one double divan, one single divan, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table etc. and an en suite bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and pedestal basin.

The villa has electric heating in the main rooms as well as a thermostatically controlled warm air central heating system. All of the windows are double glazed.

There is a washing machine in the garage on the ground floor.

About Barneville Carteret in Manche, Normandy

Barneville is a lovely little resort, with unspoilt large sandy beaches awarded the coveted 'blue flag' only 200 metres from the villa with attendant life guards and a childrens' play area in July and August.   The twin town of Carteret  is a delightful small fishing port and marina just across the estuary which has several good hotels and restaurants.

Barneville Plage embodies with great charm the quiet traditional aspects of rural seaside Normandy. To the north is the unspoilt beach and conservation area Baubigny, to the south the unspoilt beaches towards Coutainville. In addition to which one has easy access by ferry from Carteret or Port-Bail to Jersey, Guernsey or Sark (Jersey approx. 30 minutes).

Barneville is the ideal place for a complete change of atmosphere without having to drive too far.  Apart from its' local history it is an ideal centre for touring and visiting the regions places of interest, Briquebac, St. Lo, Mont St. Michel, Bayeaux and the Normandy landing beaches and museums to name but a few.  Disneyland Paris is approximately 4 hours drive or can be reached by train from Cherbourg via Paris.

The villa is situated on the main route to the beach, close to the post office, bakery/pâtisserie, poissonerie, boucherie, a small supermarket, several cafés and restaurants. The weekly markets are held on Saturdays throughout the year in the centre of Barneville and during the summer season on Thursdays in Carteret and Sundays in Barneville Plage.
