Chateau de Serrigny dates back to the 1600's. The Gatehouses provide a high standard of accommodation at affordable prices sleeping 5-7 people respectively.This year we have added two new larger properties, sleeping 10-12 to allow extended families/groups or just people wanting extra space to enjoy Burgundy. With English owners it is easy to tailor make this holiday to suit you. We are child friendly but have enough space for undisturbed relaxation if you prefer. Wine tasting is a must, along with a host of other activities all add to the perfect getaway.

With 28 acres of private park children can let off some steam and have some fun with swings, slide and trampoline onsite. We take the safety and security of your smaller members very seriously and the park has no public rights of way through it and is completely private.

The village of Serrigny benefits from having a visiting baker for your fresh croissant and bread in the morning. In the village you can also play boules, table tennis and basket ball..

We can organise free wine tasting for you and obviously give you the best tips on where to buy. The Chateau now has its own 'Petit Chablis' which can be tasted along with other good wines a few steps from your accommodation. A 45 minute drive takes you into the Aube region, where the Champagne grapes are grown, here you can taste the Champagne for free and take guided tours of the vineyards, and see all the equipment used for Champagne making. The cost of a good Champagne is around 14 euros a bottle. In the opposite direction is Irancy which is famous for its red wine. Bourgogne has some of the best cheese in france, and there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the side of the Burgundy canal with some bread, cheese and a bottle of local wine. The local restaurants will of course serve up escargots, these are definitely the best snails in France!

Accommodation detail

New for the 2010 season, one of the original farm buildings to the Chateau, La Porcherie provides excellent value accommodation 6 to 10 people. Allowing larger groups to holiday together in comfortable and spacious surroundings you can now holiday with another family, friends or just enjoy the extra space yourself. There is

• A large sitting room / lounge area with an open plan kitchen and range cooker oven. There is also an open fireplace and a log burner for the winter months. Central heating is also available. French doors open out directly onto the grounds of the Chateau.One of the sofas in the lounge can also convert to a quality sofa bed.

 The first floor consists of

• Two further bathrooms one with jacuzzi.. 
• A master bedroom with four poster bed.
• Plus three further bedrooms each with two single beds or bunks. 

All have beautiful views of the Chateau.

On the top floor there is

• A private suite with its own ensuite bathroom. It currently has one King Size bed but could easily accommodate small children with parents. (cots can be provided)

 

The front of the property has a large cobbled area running to its own gates allowing plenty of secure off road parking and a great area for eating and drinking outside. There is a large wooden dining table and BBQ. There is also a hammock to relax in.

About the location

The village is hidden in the valley between Tonnerre and Chablis. Its peaceful location and quiet roads make it ideal for children and great for relaxing.

However nearby is the town of Tonnerre where all major French Supermarkets can be found and the Burgundy canal runs right through the center.

Slightly further at 10 miles you have the beautiful city of Auxerre where just about every form of culinary taste can be catered for.

There are also two Michelin star restaurants for those who want the special touch. All come with a wide variety of the local Chablis wines and all the other famous French names.

• 4 hours autoroute drive from Calais via the A26, Reims and Troyes
• 16km from the A6 Paris to Dijon autoroute.
• Mainline train station in Tonnerre. 2 hours from Paris.
