Stone House with Stunning Views, Sauna, Gym and Private Pool in Sarlat Dordogne

This is a beautiful large stone house situated on the outskirts of Sarlat, it is only a two minute drive to the town centre. The house is situated in a large well stocked garden with stunning panoramic views of the region and overlooks the medieval town of Sarlat. The nearest restaurant is 500m from the house.

Les Figuiers de Sarlat is full of light and space and has all the modern conveniences to make your holiday comfortable and enjoyable.

There is sauna and multigym to help you have a relaxing holiday. The private swimming pool has magnificent panoramic views of the Dordogne valley. The house and pool both have a southerly aspect so benefit all day from the sun.

Les Figuiers de Sarlat is truely a place to relax, contemplate and unwind, yet it is superbly located so that all the Dordogne's attractions can be visited with ease.

Holiday Accommodation at Les Figuiers de Sarlat

This beautiful stone house is well designed and extremely well equipped. All the rooms are large airy and spacious. The house is full of light and will be beautifully decorated throughout by 2008, offering all the modern conveniences and luxury to make your holiday comfortable and enjoyable.

Both house and swimming pool enjoy a southerly aspect with magnificent panoramic views of the Dordogne valley.

  • Two separate lounges - one on each floor for those families who holiday together but like some private time apart. The main lounge has french doors leading onto a covered dining terrace that has stunning views overlooking the medieval town of Sarlat.
  • Kitchen - is well equiped and offers plenty of storage and worktop place, for those who prefer to cook outside there is a barbecue on the terrace.

At the end of a day you can relax in the sauna and for those who have over indulged in the local delicious foods and wine, there is a multigymn. The pool is available from March to October.

Outside

The garden is well stocked and you can see deers wandering through the garden in search of the windfall fruit, badgers snuffle at the bottom of the garden. In May the cuckoo returns to her nest and sings cheerily, the green woodpecker can be heard in the trees, red squirrels scurry along the paths and cheekily stop to ask for nuts. In early morning you can find an astonishing variety of wild mushrooms, garden morilles can be found in May and in the autumn cepes can be found in the adjoining woods.

About Sarlat La Caneda in Dordogne, Aquitaine

Sarlat is one of the most fascinating and beautifully restored towns in France, it is the capital of Perigord Noir. Sarlat occupies the top spot in terms of tourists and culture in this region. Over a million visitors discover and rediscover the medieval town every year and it deserves to be explored. The town is full of character and charm with medieval and renaissance houses built in the honey coloured local stone.

There is a large market held every Saturday and a food market every Wednesday morning where you can taste many of the regional delicacies and wines.

The 16th and 17th century architectural treasures are here for your admiration and discovery. All summer there are wonderful musical festivals in nearby towns and numerous nocturnal markets where you can sample all the traditional delights whilst mingling with the locals.

Three of the most beautiful villages of perigord, Domme, Beynac and La Roque Gageac are just 15km from the house. There are many historic chateaux and bastide town close by, as well as prehistoric cave paintings including the famous Lascaux. The french National Museum of Prehistory is just a short distance away.

The Dordogne is one of the most beautiful parts of France, and is well known to the French for its food and wine, leading to the saying 'en Perigord, on mange bien'. The area is the home of the truffle (the black diamond) and the world renowned Foie Gras.

Sarlat is the ideal place to be based for visiting all the major tourist attractions that the Dordogne has to offer.

Alongside the pool there is a large hot tub where you can totally relax and enjoy the health benefits a hot tub provides (one of the many benefits of a hot tub is it is an excellent way to help reduce cellulite!). The hot tub also helps you further relax as there is an arometherapy feature. The hot tub also has a colour therapy option which you can choose a colour to suit your mood.
