Le Val is a granite Breton Farmhouse that originates from 1712. The house was completely renovated in 2003 with the aim of modernising the property whilst retaining its authentic character and ambiance.  

Sitting on its own private hillside, the house boasts a private south facing garden of over 1 hectare with established trees and a small stream. Surrounded on all sides by fields, grazing cows and woodland copses it is located at the end of a private country lane.

Le Val caters for all tastes.  Secluded and quiet, it represents an opportunity to relax and enjoy a pace of life synonomous with the French. For the more energetic, the house is perefctly positioned to explore the medieval towns of Dinan and Rennes and discover the beauty of the beaches and coastline of the Cotes d'Armor.

Comfort, style and relaxation personify Le Val. A large and extremely well-appointed property. Le Val has the stamp of a home rather than a rental gite.  Sky TV, Telephone, and an Internet connection are provided and bring modern living into a traditional setting all within easy reach of home. Le Val is furnished to the highest standard and comprises:

Ground floor

  • Salon - very large beamed salon that is dominated by a traditional open fireplace. Large French windows and patio doors open out onto the front garden and rear terrace and provide an airy and light aspect to the room.
  • Kitchen / dining room - an open-plan dining room and kitchen compliment the ground floor and provide modern, stylish living with all the expected appliances provided. A large wood-burning fire has been retained in the dining room to retain the authentic character of the house.
  • 3 large bathrooms - each has a bath, sink and WC and 2 have walk-in power showers. Finished in white tiles throughout they are clean, bright and modern and in-keeping with the rest of the property.
  • First floor

  • Master bedroom - substantial room that extends the length of the main house. An iron King-size bed dominates the bedroom which benefits from a wonderful landscape view.
  • Second floor

  • Two double bedrooms - are furnished to a similar standard. 
  • Third floor

  • Twin bedroom - the third floor is a converted graniere (attic) room that again extends across the length of the main house. It has an en-suite bathroom and comprises 2 matching single beds and a double sofa-bed. Equipped with CD Player, TV, DVD and Video this room is ideal for up to 4 children.
  • About the location

    Le Val is located on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Langourla.  In an idyllic rural setting within 30 minutes of the medieval towns of Dinan and Rennes.

    The local village is well serviced by all local amenities including shops, bars and the usual french shops.  Broons is the local town and has a thriving Wednesday market.

    How to get here

    St Malo is the nearest port of entry for Le Val and is serviced by Brittany Ferries and Condor Ferries.  For those wishing a shorter crossing Caen or Cherbourg are equidistant and the journey is a calm and traffic free 2 hours on excellent French motorways.  Alternatively, flights to Dinard or Rennes are now common.
