Mas Pallares is a beautiful old stone farmhouse near Ceret, offering a variety of high quality B&B rooms & suites with balconies as well as 6 well equipped self-catering apartments of great character and charm.  The apartments vary in size & style and can accommodate parties ranging from 2 - 8. All have a balcony or terrace.   Bed & Breakfast rooms & suites can accommodate 2 - 4 and are well equipped and stylish with balcony or terrace.  All units have UK Satellite TV/DVD, Wifi.   There are pretty, informal gardens with a large, secure swimming pool & table tennis. Mas  Pallares  is located close to a small river giving access to the cherry orchards, vines & cork oaks of the lovely Reynes Valley.   A short walk will give lovely views of the mountains and the distant Mediterranean.

Situated in an idyllic valley location the property offers peace and tranquillity as well as easy access to the art galleries, cafes and museums of Ceret. 

Ceret is at the gateway to the Vallespir, a relatively undiscovered paradise where mountains tumble down to greet the sea. A nature lover's paradise, but with a wealth of old chateaux, Templar castles and romanesque churches. The sun drenched beaches of the Mediterranean and spain are all within half an hour's drive and the ski resorts less than 2 hours.

Le Vallespir is a luxury 2/3 bedroom apartment on the first floor of the farmhouse, witha large private balcony (approx 19 sq m) overlooking the garden, surrounding hills and the Reynes Valley beyond.  Facing SW the balcony enjoys afternoon and evening sun..

• Double bedroom with ensuite shower room & wc (and children's bunkroom off) and direct access to the balcony
• Twin bedroom (or kingsize) with illuminated display mezannine

About Reynes in Pyrénées-Orientales, Languedoc Roussillon

Mas Pallares is situated in the lovely Reynes Valley just a few minutes by car from the medieval market town of Ceret and just a 10-15 min walk from the nearest village of Le Pont. As well as Picasso, many artists such as Soutine and Dali have sojourned here because of the remarkable quality of the light. 

As well as being an up and coming cultural centre, there are the usual shops, restaurants, cafes, museums, and art galleries, Ceret is also well known for its vibrant Saturday market, and during the summer months, too, there is a rather arty Tuesday evening market.  Ceret  is at the gateway to the Vallespir - a region of outstanding natural beauty, where lovers of nature may find many  wonderful species of flora and fauna in its forests, including chamois, pole cats and rare butterfies.  

We are about 30 minutes from the golden, sundrenched beaches of the Mediterranean (the Cote Vermeille) and 20 minutes from the Spanish border and the Costa Brava. The ski resorts are about 1 and a half hours away, and for walkers, the Trans-Pyrenean footpath (GR10) is very closeby. There is sailing, scuba diving, canoeing, cycling and much more. If it's nightlife you seek then Perpignan and the coastal resorts of Argeles and Canet are within easy reach. In fact, it is a holiday venue to satisy many tastes.

How To Get To Reynes in Pyrénées-Orientales, South of France and the Riviera

Access to Ceret from the UK may be by car via one of the northern French ports such as Calais.  This would take about 11 hours. You could, alternatively take the TGV to Perpignan and hire a car there, or take your own car via motor rail to Narbonne and from there just follow the autoroute to Barcelona, leaving at exit 43 for Le Boulou. 

A good and inexpensive way would be via one of the cut price airlines such as Easy Jet to Barcelona, or flybe, BMI Baby or Ryanair to Perpignan and Girona. Ryanair also flies to Carcassonne & Montpellier.
