La Porcherie is a charming 19th century stone built gite, sympathetically renovated, lying within the Perigord/Limousin National Park.  Situated within nearly an acre of secluded gardens, with views of the Limousin countryside.  

Guests can enjoy our 10m x 5m swimming pool as well as horse riding, golf and fishing close by.

This tastefully restored, 19th century, stone built gite, offers accommodation on two levels.  

Ground floor

• Kitchen/living/dining room - solid oak floors in living and dining areas with quarry tiled floors in the kitchen.  Two large sofas (one a sofa bed),  English satelite television and CD player.  Dining table and chairs.  Oil filled electric radiators.  The kitchen is equipped with, gas cooker, micro-wave, washing machine and fridge freezer.

• Bedroom - with double bed and a single bed, chest of drawers and en-suite bathroom/shower and toilet with electric towel rail.

About the location

Within the National Park of Perigord-Limousin, lies a land of lakes, woodland and chateaux. Long summer days and warm nights, peace and tranquility await you. Visit the wine museums in Cognac, or go on to the west coast at Bordeaux or La Rochelle for a day trip.

The Dordogne Valley is less than 2 hours and water sports on Lac Vassiviere easily reached from the farmhouse. Limoges (28km) is a city world famous for its porcelain, and has a small but beautiful medieval centre.

Nearby is the preserved village of Oradour sur Glane (15km), scene of a horrific massacre in the second world war, and a national French monument. In nearby Rochechourt (10km), see the largest meteorite crater in the world!

How to get here

• Limoges Airport is only 30 minutes with direct flights from London Stanstead or Southampton.
• The journey from Caen, St Malo or the shuttle takes between 5 to 6 ½ hours without stops.
