Gite and Annexe with Large Private Covered Pool and Fabulous Views

In the tiny Hamlet of Bariats and Nestling in a traditional french plum field, La Pruneraie is a flexible holiday home from home with a private pool. The property is set in 2 acres of plum field next to an ancient wood and a short walk to a beautiful lake there is sure to be somewhere to escape to and encourage you to fall in love with the french countryside.

Holiday Accommodation at La Prunairie

La Pruneraie is set in a traditional french plum field with lots of outside space, it consists of 2 parts, the main house and the pool house annexe/pool area. This is our second home and is amply furnished, not set up as a gite and as such has all the comforts of home.

Main House

This is accessed via steps and the covered sun terrace:

• Kitchen  area - new for 2008 an artisan made solid wood kitchen with Island unit and dresser. The facilities include gas cooker, coffee maker and kettle, microwave, fridge freezer and fitted dishwasher. There are cook books and plenty of cookware for those passionate about cooking. With local produce from the nearby markets you are sure to be in cuisine heaven.
• Lounge area - With sofa and log burning stove with plentiful suppy of wood for the odd chilly evening. There is also a fitted air conditioning unit, UK satellite TV (Free To Air), DVD player, CD, Radio Cassette and telephone (honesty box).
• Dining area - table and 6 chairs and broadband internet access via wireless router
• Bedroom 1 - Luxurious with double bed and 2 bedside cabinets with reading lights a tallboy and fitted mosquito net blind to window. There is an en suite shower room with fitted sink unit with mirror and shaver socket, heated towel rail, generous and luxurious shower area, WC and also fitted mosquito net blind to window.
• Bedroom 2 - With bunk beds, shelf unit and chest of drawers, patio doors to sun terrace and portable air conditioning unit and a DVD player. There is also an en suite bath / shower room. The bath has shower over and there is fitted sink unit mirror and shaver socket, heated towel rail, WC and fitted Mosquito nets to windows.

Pool House Annexe 

This is across the lawned courtyard from the main house:

• Kitchen - fully fitted including, gas cooker, fridge, coffee maker and kettle, base and high level storage cupboards and ironing facilities.
• Lounge Dining area - entered via double patio doors. Table with 2 chairs (2 further folding chairs are provided), 2 seater sofa bed and easy chair.
• Bedroom - with double bed, 2 bedside cabinets with reading lights and a tallboy. New for 2012 is a fitted air conditioning unit. There is an en suite sower room with a fitted sink unit with mirorr, hairdryer and shaver socket .WC, washing machine and shower area.

Pool Area

• With loungers, patio chairs and tables, parasole
• Large 10m by 5m easy open covered pool with in pool lighting
• Outdoor store with inflatable toys etc.

Please note that the pool is approximately 1.2m deep at the edge and 1.4m deep in the middle. Inflatable rings and arm bands are provided in the pool storage box. We also have some Bikes which you are welcome to use.

Outside

The property faces south for maximum benefit from the sun. The covered sun terace offeres shelter from the elements and a truly stunning view over the ancient wood and plum field. Around the corner is a large lake which can be fished (with permit available from the fishing shop in Villereal)

Ideally located for cycling, there is a Bastide Tour for which there is a sign at the top of our driveway.

Our boundary runs up to the Marie and down to the ancient Wood, there is a walk through the wood to the top of the hill where there is a ruined chateaux, see if you can find it!

About Rayet in Lot-et-Garonne, Aquitaine

Located in the small hamlet of Bariats with easy acces to the Bastide towns of Montpazier, Villereal and  Beaumont; with excellent restaurants and shopping facilites. We are only 30 minutes from Bergerac Airport and If you are driving we are 400 miles from St Malo.

The Dordogne valley with its beautiful scenery, canoeing, caves and chateaux are 45 minutes away by car.

If you are a wine enthusiast, there are local wine producers in the Bergerac, Monbazillac, Duras regions close by.

How To Get To Rayet in Lot-et-Garonne, South West France

• By Road. Ferries to Calais,Caen, Cherbourg, St Malo. or the Channel Tunnel.
• From Villereal take the Beaumont road, after 3 miles take the right turn signposted Bariats. We will issue full directions on application.
• Rail Links to Bergerac Station.
