Home description

A beautiful Charentaise gite / apartment set in extensive private grounds with small lake. An ideal place to relax, unwind and enjoy La Drapelliere. A short stroll takes you into the historic market town of Craon. Centrally located for visiting the many fine Chateaux, walking, cycling or fishing. The popular visitor centres of Le Mans, Rennes and Nantes are within easy access. The coast is only about one and a half hours drive away.

La Drapelliere is all on one level and comprises:

• Entrance vestibule - a large spacious entrance hall
• Lounge - generous and well appointed lounge area with comfortable seating, oak beams and log burning stove, UK satellite, TV ( with french TV ), DVD / CD player,  PS2  player (please don't forget to bring your own games and controllers), linked to the dining area
• Dining area - with large table and six chairs + high chair
• Breakfast kitchen - fully fitted breakfast kitchen with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, basic store cupboard
• WC - separate WC
• House bathroom - well appointed house bathroom with large shower with multihead shower unit, WC, vanity unit, towels
• Three bedrooms - two double, one twin room. Each have good quality firm beds, wardrobe, dressing tables. All linen provided. Cot available. All rooms have external shutters

Outside

• There are four sets of  "porte-fenetre" patio doors leading to the gardens and lake area 
• Large patio table and 8 chairs, barbecue and ample garden furniture 
• Ample parking - free garage parking if required
• Motorcyclists have free internal sous-sol garage facilities with bike washing and (self) servicing area.  A broad selection of tools and a bike lift are available

About the location

The beautiful town of Craon is situated 32km south west of Laval in the Mayenne (53). A bustling historic market town with a Monday morning local market. There is a morning market each day of the week within an hours drive. There are many horse racing venues in the Mayenne area.

There are several good restaurants in Craon, serving traditional French, Crepes, Pizza or an English Sunday lunch (La Roe), or a beer at one of the local bars.

The cities of Paris, Le Mans, Nantes, Rennes, Vitre and Laval are all within easy reach. The nearest coasts are St Nazaire to the west, or St Malo to the north, both about 90 minutes drive.
