Where is it

Pyrénées-Atlantiques
 

Large comfortable house with private pool, ideal to get your friends and family together. Get the best of both worlds with easy access to the mountains and the beach to keep everyone happy. The house is set in a quiet spot so you can relax and have privacy around the pool with views of the Pyrenees. 

Supermarkets within 5 minutes and a range of restaurants from basic to a very high standard and very resonably priced.  Beautiful area with lots of activities to experience. An English lady living close by is on hand to help with any queries and to give local information.

Accommodation detail

Large comfortable house, lots of space to get everyone together. There are seven large bedrooms, sun room with a table to seat 15, private pool and garden.

2 baby travel cots also provided if required.

Outside

Garden with enclosed 8m x 4m pool, with security to French regulations. The pool is illuminated at night.

A range of tables and chairs for outside dining, sun loungers, parasols and small tables around the pool. Also barbecue facilities.

There is a large enclosed grassed area for play and a garage.
 

About the location

We are half way between Biarritz and Pau (both with airports) at Berenx. The nearest town is the very pretty spa town of Salies de Bearn. Although we are in a rural position we are near to the main road to Biarritz and Pau so very easily accessed and easy to find.

We are close to supermarkets and a range of restaurants. Close by in Orthez is a lovely lake with a 'beach' coast and play facilities for the younger children. You can have the best of both worlds as the mountains and the beach are about 1 hour away. San Sebastian in Spain is approx 1 1/2 hours away, well worth a visit if only for the tapas!

How to get here

Nearest airport Biarritz and Pau only 45minutes away, Tarbes/Lourdes is 75 minutes away, then a very easy route either on the National route or the Auto route. From Calais it is a 10 hour journey, but very easy driving with lots of cheap hotels onroute for an overnight stay if required.

The house, it's position and the pool were all ideal. Being so well, equipped and arranged for children and families added to the success of the week and the weather was wonderful.

The surrounding countryside and proximity of so many attractive places to visit was a further asset. Altogether this is an ideal place for a large family holiday. Even for 14 of us, there was plenty of room.
