Renovated farmhouse with a well stocked garden of nearly an acre, set in the midst of rolling countryside.  There is a private swimming pool (10m by 5 m) with sun terrace. Suitable for groups.

Chez Maubrun has an excellent standard of living accommodation - farmhouse kitchen and  lounge with open fireplace.

It has easy access to all the tourist attractions of northern Dordogne, with a variety of things to do during the day. For example, you can enjoy full day trips to Bordeaux, Perigueux, Angouleme (15 miles away), Limoges and La Rochelle.

Chez Maubrun is a good holiday choice for both relaxing and exploring.

About Edon in Charente, Poitou Charentes

  • Set in quiet countryside, suitable for painters, ramblers and cyclists of all ages.
  • Secluded haven for local wildlife, including barn owls, kites and buzzards.
  • Shops, restaurants and Saturday market in Villebois Lavalette, approx 5 miles away.
  • Watersports and sightseeing in Brantome, approx 30 minutes drive
  • La Rochelle - the most beautiful French port can be visited as a day trip to the seaside.
  • Bordeaux, Perigueux and Limoges all about 2 hours drive
  • Wine tasting in the area south of the property, including St Emillion, Bergerac and Bordeaux
  • Cognac trips in Jarnac and Cognac, including visits to local producers 
  • Sightseeing in northern Perigord - caves, markets, architecture.
  • Aubterre, considered to be one of the most beautiful villiages in France is within 40kms. 
  • Angouleme has museums for papermaking, and animations. There are panoramic views of the river Charente from its ramparts and several outdoor murals within the city centre. There is a local chocolate factory near Angouleme which can be visited by car or by boat (free tastings).

How To Get To Edon in Charente, South West France

  • Just off the D939 road between Angouleme and Perigueux, 15 miles south east of Angouleme.
  • Nearest airport is Angouleme, (35 minutes drive)  but Limoges, Poitiers, Bergerac and Bordeaux  airports are  all within 2 hours drive.
  • Nearest train station (TGV) Angouleme.
  • Own transport or hire car essential.
