The Owl Barn is a large family friendly gite with swimming pool, English TV and wireless internet connection. It is close to the D-Day beaches and is set in 8 acres of farmland.

The Owl Barn is a large 4 bedroom rural gite for family holidays which is set in 8 acres of farmland and enjoys stunning views. It has its own above ground swimming pool and facilities include English satellite TV, wireless internet connection and the fully fitted kitchen has all you need including a dishwasher.

The barn is full of old beams and rustic charm. 

Ground floor

• Lounge / dining room - very large room with a farmhouse style dinning table to seat 8 and a range of sofas and arm chairs. It has English satellite TV, plus a radio and CD player, a selection of books and games. The kitchen has all you will need including cooker, microwave, coffee maker, and a dishwasher and there is a washing machine that you can use.

• Two twin bedrooms

We can provide a cot and high chair free of charge, so we can accept a total of 8 plus a baby.

Outside

There is a very large garden that enjoys views down the Vire Valley. On a clear day you can see up to 8 miles. We have an above ground swimming pool for your exclusive use, plus plenty of garden furniture and a barbecue.

There is also a games room, with a full size American pool table and table tennis table. We have sheep, chickens, dogs and cats to make friends with.

We live close by with our 4 children and can offer all the help and advice that you may need for fun family days out or places to eat.

About the location

The Owl barn is a short drive from the D-Day Beaches, and ideal for a tour of the Normandy Battlefields. We are only 1 mile from the village of St Martin Des Besace strong which has a full range of shops, and near by are several restaurants that we would recommend for the family. The market towns of St Lo and Vire are only a few miles further, and the Bayueax Tapestry and Mont St Michel are must places to visit.

For the more adventurous. We can book canoeing on the river Vire for you, and 5 miles away is a Bungee jump and adventure park open all summer.

How to get here

Travel is easy from the ferry ports of Caen, 45 minutes, Cherbourg 1 hour and Calais or the tunnel only 3.75 hours by car .

Paris can be reached in just over 3 hours and is close enough for a day trip.
