About the location

In the pretty, ancient village of Longre with it's own bar and picnic area

Close to the market towns of Aigre, Ruffec and Chef Boutonne with markets, supermarkets, banks and shops a short drive away.

For a wonderful day out, visit the stunning Atlantic Coast beaches and resorts such as Fouras and La Rochelle with their wonderful seafood restaurants.

How to get here

By Air  -  Flights are available  to La Rochelle, Poitiers, Limoges, Bordeaux and Angouleme (from April 2008),  where reasonably priced car hire is available.

By Ferry -  Good access from channel ports (Caen - 5 hours, St Malo - 5 hours, Dieppe - 6 hours, Calais / Cherbourg-7 hours)

By Road - From the north, follow the A10 Motorway to Poitiers and then the N10 to Ruffec

By Rail -  TGV services link Ruffec to Paris or Lille and Eurostar services are available to Angouleme.
