This welcoming property is set on a family-friendly plot, in  peaceful surroundings, but  just 5 minutes from Trémolat, one of the prettiest villages in the Dordogne, and within walking distance of the picturesque Cingle de Trèmolat. 

Accommodation detail

Les Cardoux is a single storey property, standing to the rear of a fully enclosed private garden. The interior has been tastefully furnished to a very high standard, providing you, our guests, with all the amenities necessary to enjoy a very comfortable and relaxing holiday.

The house has a double aspect sitting/dining room, with access through French doors out to the pool and terraces. At one end of the sitting area is a large stone fireplace, with a log-burning stove, alongside which, is: 

To the rear of the room is the dining area, and from here you pass into the extremely well-equipped, compact kitchen. The facilities here are all that you would wish for in a holiday gite:

There are ample work surfaces and storage areas, plus an island for extra space. The large kitchen windows overlook the swimming pool area, making this room light & airy, and enabling the chef to share in the enjoyment of the family, whilst preparing meals or snacks!!

The utility area houses the washing machine, tumble drier and chest freezer.

The three bedrooms lead off the central corridor. Two rooms have a double bed, the other is a twin-bedded room. A cot is available if required. Each room has bedside cabinets, fans, large fitted wardrobes, providing ample storage for all your holiday outfits.

The white tiled bathroom is modern and bright, and has a hand-basin, bath with shower attachment and toilet.

Outside

The main feature of the property is the feeling of space, because the property looks out to the rear & sides over open fields, woodlands and vines. The grounds of the property are fenced throughout, providing a secure area where you can pass your holiday in the ease & comfort of knowing that the children can run & play safely in the garden, leaving you to relax & unwind by the pool.

The front garden is a large grassed area, ideal for ball games or general romping around in a safe environment.

The rear garden contains the new swimming pool and terrace, where you can relax on the recliners, sheltering from the heat under the parasols, whilst watching the children enjoying themselves in the pool. Alongside the open terrace, to the rear & sides of the house, is a covered seating area - ideal for those balmy summer evening meals, cooked on the permanent, brick barbecue.....or where you can just relax with a glass of wine, mulling over the events of the day.....or just reflecting on the joys of holidaying with us at Les Cardoux!!

About the location

Les Cardoux is just on the outskirts of Trèmolat, one of the prettiest villages, and sought-after holiday destinations in the Dordogne. The house is situated off the road about 500m from both the village & the River Dordogne, providing you with a peaceful haven in which to enjoy a quiet, restful holiday, whilst being only a 5 minute stroll from the centre of Trèmolat. Here you will find a well-stocked general store, boulangerie, pizzeria/restaurant and bar, a traditional restaurant, post office and a garage.

Nestling alongside the River Dordogne is the Bassin Nautique, which provides holiday-makers with a range of water sports including river/pool swimming, canoeing, water-skiing, pedalos, as well as a bar/restaurant for the more relaxing pastimes!!

The local area, the Périgord Poupre is essentially a wine growing area, so the summer climate is beneficial to the vines … and holidaymakers! The region is renowned for its natural beauty; sites of architectural and historic interest; and wide variety of activities for the more active holidaymakers.

Within half an hour’s drive of Les Cardoux, you could visit the famous abbeys of St. Avit Sénieur and Cadouin; the prehistoric caves at Les Eyzies, Le Bugue, Le Buisson and Lascaux; the Mediaeval villages and towns of Limeuil, Issigeac, Domme, Sarlat, Bergerac and Périgueux; the imposing châteaux on the banks of the Dordogne at Beynac, Castleneaud, Payrac and Marqueysac … and then, after an enjoyable day site-seeing, why not take the opportunity to taste and experience the culinary delights based on the local produce … foie gras, truffles, cêpes, walnuts, strawberries, cheeses, to name but a few …plus the wines of Bergerac, Monbazillac and Pecharmant.
