Only 4 km from the A9 motorway, Saint Hilaire d'Ozilhan is situated between Uzes, Avignon and Nimes. It is a peaceful XVIth century vineyards village, with old stone houses. Avignon is a famous medieval city with the beautiful Palais des Papes, whereas Nimes stands as an even older Roman town. Uzes is quite famous for its Provencal market.
Activities in our region are numerous: architecture, landscapes, history or sports activities will make up your entertainment.
The property comprises of two attached but independent dwellings (Les Plaqueminiers) and a separate cottage (Le Pavillon). Le Plaqueminier I and II share their car park facilities. With its olive green shutters and white walls, surrounded by wooden terraces, they fade into its background.
Le Plaqueminier 1 is a comfortable house in a quiet environment, on the periphery of the village. It is surrounded with wooden terraces, to make walking about easy and secure. In addition to the air-conditioning, there are fans in the ground floor bedroom and in the lounge.
A few steps lead to the entrance and
A wooden staircase gives access to the first floor, under the roof, where two other rooms can be found. In front of the stairs
The swimming pool (11mx5.5) faces South. In Summer, the water can get up to 30°C. Sun loungers and umbrella are at your disposal for sunbathing on the wooden terraces around the swimming pool. Children safety is secured by an alarm that goes off whenever something drops in.
Saint Hilaire d'Ozilhan is a quiet XVIth century village, 4km from the A9 motorway, between the Duche of Uzes (16km), Avignon (20km) and Nîmes (18km). Arles and the Provence are not far away, only 40km by the motorway. Our guests always visit the famous Roman aqueduc Le Pont du Gard (only a few minutes from the property) and its renovated site. The same golden stone has been largely used to build the villages around.
People enjoy touring Uzes, the capital of the Duche with its towers and archbishop quarters, or wandering among the shops of its typical Provence market place. Avignon is only a 20mn drive from here. You will be able to visit the Palais des Papes and the famous broken bridge, le Pont d'Avignon, together with the intra-muros city. A short drive will lead you to the wine site of Chateauneuf du Pape.
Nimes is an old Roman town with a lot of character. Concerts and ballets are shown in the amphitheatre every night, and its "feria"of Pentecost, with bull corridas, is sought by many.

We arrived at the property to a lovely welcome basket and welcome from Catherine the owner. The villa had everything you could wish for and more. The outside area and the pool were the icing on the cake and where we spent most of our time. We had a lovely evening with Catherine and the other guests and I would certainly recommend this villa.

We had a very enjoyable stay, the owner Catherine, made us very welcome, greeting us with freshly baked bread & a complimentary bottle of delicious local wine. The accommodation was first rate, of a high standard and very well equipped.
The gardens & swimming pool were private and well kept, it was lovely to arrive back at the house , prepare a meal & sit on the veranda overlooking the pool in the evenings. This area of France is wonderful, we visited the near by Pont-Du-Gard, and many of the major towns in the area. Our favourite was Uzes` where the Saturday Market gives a real insight into the local produce for which this area is renowned- lovely dried lavender, beautiful provencal linens etc.
We will definitely return for some more of Catherine's warm hospitality, and can highly recommend both villas.

Wonderful house with a great location in the heart of Provence. The house is further located right next to a nice and quiet small village, which provides a great starting point for exploring the regions many tourist attractions. Furthermore the house holds a high standard, is spacious and great for children. Can easily recommend this place, and would visit again.

The property was clean, spacious and ideally positioned to explore this fascinating area. Catherine Mermilliod was very gracious and helpful, and was a perfect hostess. The pool and the grounds fitted our needs perfectly, so much so that we are already discussing booking for next year!
