Nestled in the foothills of the French Pyrenees mountains, our self-contained Gites, with swimming pool in the tranquil garden are located in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques department of Aquitaine, Southwest France, Department 64. We are conveniently situated in the beautiful and typically French village of Issor, postcode 64570, surrounded by open countryside and spectacular views of the Pyrenees mountains.

This fantastic location in the South west of France means you have the mountains within easy reach but also we are just 10mins from the quaint town of Oloron-Sainte-Marie, 50mins from the beautiful City of Pau and 1.5hrs from Biarritz on the coast.

Our Gites are open all year round, taking advantage of the stunning seasons. The house itself has a date of 1760 etched into the stone doorway, which was the era of King Louis the 16th and the three musketeers. From our courtyard gates, you can walk in any direction and enjoy breathtaking scenery. The property is surrounded by fields and views of the mountains.

In the village of Issor, with a magnificent view of the surrounding area, we have a little shop come cafe/bar where the locals will welcome you. Also nearby are several ski resorts, the closest being just 40mins away, La Pierre Saint Martin, with spectacular panoramic views. There are plenty of lovely restaurants, cafes and bars located nearby to relax over a coffee, lunch or evening meal.

The ‘Courtyard Gite’ has three bedrooms, one double and two twin rooms, sleeping up to six people, one shower room with WC, plus an additional separate WC. The first floor has a sun-drenched glass panelled door leading directly onto the traditional Béarnaise balcony, overlooking the charming courtyard, which is adorned with colourful flowers and the spectacular mountains beyond, also with French doors leading into its own exclusive area of the courtyard to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

There is the secluded garden, which is surrounded by the typically French countryside with a swimming pool at the far end and stunning views of the mountains. Available are tables and chairs and also sunloungers by the pool and the use of a barbeque for those warm balmy evenings.

About the location

Our fantastic location in the South west of France means you have the mountains within easy reach but also we are just 10mins from the quaint town of Oloron-Sainte-Marie, with plenty of cafes to sit and watch the world go by and a large choice of lovely restaurants for a lunch or evening meal. We are just 50mins from the beautiful City of Pau, which is well worth a day trip. The coastal town of Biarritz is a beautiful place by anyone's standards. At only 1.5 hours drive from our location in Issor it makes Biarritz a really great place for a visit. Whether you are looking for water sports, where the mountains seemingly slide into the Atlantic ocean or if you want to browse the classy shops on the sun drenched boulevards, Biarritz really is a must see place. The airport at Biarritz is also served by Ryanair flights from Stansted.

Both Pau and Biarritz are served by Ryanair flights from Stansted, Dublin or Shannon. From May 2008, Ryanair will be flying to Pau from Bristol three times a week. Lourdes is only 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from our location. For visitors who are touring on motorcycles or driving, the northern Spanish ferry ports of Bilbao and Santander are just over 3 hours away.

Why not drive to Spain, we are just a 30 minute drive from the border.

We are also only 40 minutes from the picturesque ski resort of La Pierre Sainte Martin. Other ski resorts are a short distance to drive.
