Near Mont St Michel and Saint Malo this three bedroom gîte, once "Le Porcherie", has been renovated to a very high standard. It provides well-appointed accommodation, has its own private garden, sun terrace and BBQ area together with access to the swimming pool, childrens play area and boules court. An ideal place for walking, cycling or just relaxing surrounded by the beautiful Brittany countryside.

Accommodation detail

• Lounge/dining room - is a spacious open plan room with all the comforts of home from home.  There is a comfortable leather three piece suite with three seater settee and two armchairs, side tables and coffee table. The "French" oak TV cabinet incorporates a TV with a “Free to Air” box, VCR, DVD player and a surround sound system.

In the dining area there is a traditional oak Breton "buffet" with matching table and chairs providing ample seating for six.

The solid oak Breton dresser houses an assortment of games, jigsaw puzzles, DVD’s and books for those quieter days.  There are also a selection of pamphlets and brochures for those wishing to have more knowledge about places to visit in the area.

There is a built-in wardrobe for your outdoor coats and shoes. It also houses the ironing board, iron, sweeping brush, mop and bucket, vacuum cleaner and ample space for suitcases and bags.

• Kitchen - provides a fully fitted kitchen, with a stainless steel sink overlooking the garden.  It is fully equipped with a range of modern appliances, which include a cooker, dishwasher, washing machine fridge, microwave, slow cooker, steamer, food processor and a full set of sharp carving knives.  We also provide all the pots, pans, cutlery and crockery that you may need for those evenings that you wish to cook at "home".
• Bedroom 1 - is well appointed with a double bed and comfortably furnished with a double mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, towel rail, alarm clock and hairdryer.  All duvets, pillows, linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided.
• Bedrooms 2 & 3 - is well appointed with twin beds. Both rooms are comfortably furnished with a triple mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, towel rail, alarm clock and hairdryer. All duvets, pillows, linen and towels (except beach towels) are provided.
• Shower Rooms - all three bedrooms have their own private ensuite shower room, with hand wash basin, WC, heated towel rail and shaver socket.  The state-of-the-art shower cabins are a thrill a minute with the choice of overhead shower, hand shower or multi-jet shower.

Swimming Pool and Gardens at La Chénardais

La Chénardais is set in large grounds of two hectares. This provides a great space for children to play ball games and use up some of that excess energy.

The gite has its own private garden, sun terrace and BBQ area together with access to the swimming pool, childrens play area and boules court.

There is a 10m x 5m heated swimming pool for our guests to cool off during the hot summer months. From the pool area, our guests can enjoy the views over the hills, fields and rolling countryside surrounding us.

We have provided tables and chairs both in the shade or the sun for those guests not wanting a swim, but would rather just read a book, top up the tan or just have a snooze.

There is ample space provided to park your car, boat or trailer.

There are many interesting towns and cities to visit in Brittany; to name but a few Cancale, Combourg, Dinan, Dinard, Dol de Bretagne, Mont St Michel, Rennes, Saint Brieuc, Saint Cast le Guildo and of course Saint Malo.

Local Markets

There are markets every day of the week for those who love to try the local, fresh produce of the area.

Shopping and Supermarkets

There are three boulangeries within a few minutes drive of La Chenardais.  There are local supermarkets at Pleine Fougères or Dol de Bretagne with the larger hypermarkets at Avranches or Saint Malo.

Eating Out

There are a good selection of restaurants locally which cater for all tastes and pockets from local to international cuisine.

Beaches

There are a good number of sandy beaches along the coast from Saintt Malo via Saint Cast le Guildo, past the lighthouse at Cap Frehal and onto Saintt Brieuc.  For those wishing to venture into Normandy, the beaches at Granville and Jullouville are also good for the family to enjoy a day out by the sea.
