Home description

Rustic french family farmhouse located in a quiet village with restaurant/bar. Situated on 10 acres of working farm for animals and maize. Private fishing river (salmon/trout) accessible from the grounds. Friendly goats with babies to feed. A haven of peace and tranquility, but equally the area has acivities galore. Numerous fabulous beaches 45 mins away, ski resorts 1hour.  Lourdes 1.5 hours. The farm was originally part of the estate of the adjacent chateau.

About the location

The property is situated in a quiet village with a restaurant. The pretty medieval town of Sauveterre de bearn is only 3km and is situated on the banks of the gave de oloron where you can go rafting, it has shops and restaurants, tennis courts and a small market on a Saturday morning. Larger markets are held weekly in Salies de Bearn and St Palais. The historic towns of Pau and Bayonne, the Atlantic coast and famous Biarritz beach, the mountains where skiing is available and Spain are all within 45 mins away.

Maison Barbe is in Autevielle approximately 45mins from Pau and Biarritz airports, which Ryan air fly to from several  international airports. Bordeaux and Toulouse airports are approximately 2 and a half hours away.

By road we are 20 mins away from the motorway and by train the tgv comes from Paris to Dax or Biarritz.

The nearest local train station is Puyoo 20 mins.
