Home description

Get away from it all and totally relax at our delightful property. Located in a peaceful setting yet only 3km from the busy little town of Ille sur Tete. Many people have stayed and have had to return as they have not wanted to leave the property to visit the area! 

The property has a lovely private swimming pool and terraces for seating with views down the valley. The house is well equipped and comfortable and you will not want to leave.

• Large cave (basement) storage, freezer and wine cellar
• Pool house with equipment for swimming pool
• Parking for a car at the bottom of the drive. Further parking at the top of the very steep drive not suitable for large cars. 
• The house is best suited for maximum of 4 adults.

About the location

The quiet hamlet of St Michel de Llotes is spread out along the river surrounded by wooded hills. The village is 3km from the busy little town of Ille sur Tete. It is an ideal location set between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenean mountains. This area is known to have the best climate in France, with an average 300 days of sunshine per year, it is rich on history, culture and natural beauty. The coast is 30 minutes drive away. There are weekly markets at Ille sur Tete and at many other local villages.

The immediate area is well suited for hiking and cycling. Lakes and water sports are only 15 minutes drive away at Vinca and ski resorts are just over one hours drive away. Not to be missed is the fortified town of Villefrance-de-Conflent which dates back back to 1090. The little yellow train winds its way on naroow gauge tracks through the gorges, and across towering viaducts up into the Cerdagne, stopping at small mountain stations on the way.

How to get here

By Car: To Perpignan ( near the French/Spanish border) then along N116 in the direction of Andorra and Prades. Turn right off the N116 to Ille sur Tete, drive through the village and follow signs for St Michel de Llotes.

By Air: The nearest airport is Perpignan.  RyanAir and Flybe provide cheap flights. Girona is 1 1/4 hours away also Barcelona 2 1/2 hours and Carcassone 1 1/2 away.
