About the location
On the fringe of peaceful village, looking over arable fields and gently undulating wooded slopes in heart of Burgundy countryside. Shops, small supermarket and banks 3kms away at Ancy-le -Franc along virtually deserted country roads. Ideal base for historical and cultural sites of region undeservedly ignored by tourists who flock to Brittany or Dordogne. 16th century renaissance chateaux of Ancy-le Franc and Tanlay within 10 kms, convenient for world famous abbey of Fontenay and basilica of Vezelay, many picturesque unspoilt villages, several small restaurants nearby and some prestige ones.

Whatever mode of transport you chose, a car is essential while you are here.
Flights to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) or Lyon, where a car can be hired.
TGV express trains from Paris to Montbard (30 minutes away), where a car can be hired.
By road from the north we are 5 hours from Calais; take the A26/A5 route south to junction 22 (Magnant) and then there is a gentle 40 mile meander south to Stigny through some delightful rural scenery.
