If you are looking for a comfortable base for sightseeing, enjoying the ambiance of dining at the many restaurants, enjoying the many shops, markets and brocantes or just switching off to enjoy reading whilst sitting on the patio then this Maison is for you.

La Cerise is just two minutes from the village of St Martial and is situated in a rural setting but not isolated with a beautiful garden enclosed with fir trees. The driveway from the gates goes through the centre of the garden where there is a parking space for you.

• Lounge (30m²) has a door opening onto the patio and barbecue area. Fireplace with woodburner, settee, two comfy armchairs, television with video recorder. Dining area with pine dresser – dining table 4 chairs.
• Kitchen area with gas cooker, microwave and Fridge and good storage cupboards. Hallway from lounge access to laundry.

Upstairs

• Two large bedrooms with original beamed ceilings, one with twin beds and the other with a double bed. The bedrooms overlook the garden and views across the valley.
• Bathroom - bath with shower attachment, bidet, sink and heater.
• Separate toilet.

The house is South facing so the bedrooms are lovely and sunny. The house is centrally heated for early and late bookings, this is a separate request.

About the location

St Martial De Vallete is a small village with two breadshops, Bar with restaurant, Sports Centre and new this year a swimming pool. The town of Nontron is just 5 kms where there are many shops, bars and cafes. Market on a Saturday morning. Just a short drive from the town centre there are many Supermarkets and stores. From Nontron to the north is the Perigord Vert Limousin where there are many Lakes and forests. You can visit at Aix sur Vienne the maison de la Porcelaine where you get a free guided tour of the factory and of course there is a factory shop. You will find many Porcelaine shops in this area.

St Martial is on the south side of Nontron and just 15mins by car takes you to Brantome, which is said to be a ‘little Venice’. Many restaurants and a Friday market which must not be missed. From Brantome there is Bourdeilles with a beautiful Medieval Chateau and grounds. There is also an open air swimming pool.

From Brantome you can visit Perigueux which is a very old city with cobbled streets and beautiful shops and many restaurants. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday morning but there is an indoor market every day. Golf Peigut – 9 Hole Golf course Perigueux – 18 Hole course. There is a restaurant. Details can be obtained.

How to get here

The property is 5 km from the town of Nontron, TGV rail services are available from Angoluême and Limoges to Paris, FlyBe and Ryan Air offer direct flights to the Uk and Ireland from Limoges and Bergerac Airports. Further scheduled services are available from British Airways, Air France, BMI and Easyjet from Bordeaux Airport.

By road Nontron is easily accessible via Limoges to the A20 Autoroute and via Angoluême to the A10 A20 Autoroute both enabling speedy connections with the channel ports.
