Villa Saint John, Stunning Views of the Cote d'Azur & Pool

The "Villa Saint John" is situated just outside the famous perfumery town of Grasse on the Cote d'Azur. It is just half an hour drive to Nice airport.

The villa is located in a peaceful area away from the hustle and bustle, which makes it ideal for a calm, relaxing holiday. It is however within close reach of Cannes, Monte Carlo, Monaco, Antibes, the Gorges du Verdon as well as all the other numerous attractions available in the French Alps and along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

There are stunning views not only of the sea, which is a mere 13km away as the crow flies, but also the unspoiled cliffs and hills to the East and West.

There is a large South facing terrace with outside dining table and barbecue for the warm evenings a 9x4m saline swimming pool and a large garden including a badminton court and table tennis.

Holiday Accommodation at Villa Saint John

The house is divided into two seperate, self contained appartments:

The upper level, sleeping up to six guests, is available for letting all year round and features:

  • Two twin bedrooms
  • Living room with a double sofa-bed. Opens onto the balcony.
  • Bathroom as well as an additional separate toilet.
  • Fully equipped kitchen with dinning table.
  • Large, south facing terrace (50m²) with outside dining table and barbecue for the warm evenings.

Stunning views from the terrace and from all the windows.

Children are welcome, but the property is on a steep slope with high walled terraces and stairs, so it is not ideal for unsupervised play for younger children.

About Grasse in Alpes-Maritimes, Provence - Cote d'Azur

Grasse is set in the hills above the Côte d’Azur, an area that is renowned as a holiday destination, catering to numerous interests, but especially well known for the sunny beaches and warm sea, the cuisine and culture, as well as areas of unique natural beauty.

Attractions and activities are all within driving distance, such as the nearby metropolitan areas of Nice and Cannes which offer the best of holiday life in the city.
For those interested in more active relaxation there is an abundance of sporting activities, made possible by the natural terrain that spans from the low Alps to the Mediterranean Sea: Rock climbing, scenic walking, all manner of water sports, skiing and alpine sports stations (Greoliers, Auron and Isola 2000 are seasonal stations within two hours’ drive).
Cultural attractions such as the famous glazed pottery and glass village of Biot, the art galleries and expositions of Picasso and Matisse.
An area of natural beauty that is often overlooked is the Gorge du Verdon, the largest and considered by many to be the most beautiful in Europe.
Slightly further afield you can visit Monaco and Monte Carlo to the East or St. Maxime and St. Tropez to the West. Italy is close enough for day trips by car or train if you want to enjoy real pasta or pizza!
Grasse is a medieval town, famous since the 18th Century as the perfume capital of the world. The old town is a maze of narrow winding streets, with hidden squares surrounded by restaurants, boutiques and shops.
The “Fete du Jasmin” takes place at the start of each August, where onlookers are covered in the petals by the procession, and everyone enjoys the music.
Places of interest include:
  • the International Museum of Perfume
  • the 11th Century Cathedral Notre Dame de Puy which sits at the heart of the old town containing some the Old Master Rubens’ painting
  • the perfumeries such as the world famous Fragonard, where you can visit to watch the master perfumers, known as the “Noses” mix fragrances for the most famous perfumes in the world
  • the two Michelin star restaurant La Bastide Saint-Antoine, which is just one of several highly regarded restaurants in the area.
There are also municipal tennis courts a number of nearby golf courses and a casino.

How To Get To Grasse in Alpes-Maritimes, South of France and the Riviera

The nearest airport is Nice, which is 35 minutes away by car.

TGV trains stop at Cannes, a 30 minute drive away.

The main bus station in Grasse is a 30 minute walk away and provides public transport links to the local trains and major towns (Cannes and Nice) from where travel to tourist attractions all around Provence and the along the coast, such as Monte Carlo, St. Tropez, and even Italy are possible.

The villa itself is located at the end of a very steep private road. There is a locked garage on the main road with space for one car. There is also gated parking available for two cars in front of the house. Use of a car is recommended.

The saline swimming pool (9x4m) is kind on the skin and eyes as it does not use the traditional chlorine additives.

There is a full sized lawn badmington court below the swimming pool.

There is a large balcony/terrace for outside dinning and sunbathing as well as an outdoors gas fired barbeque.

The garden is large with many terraces filled with olive trees, fruit trees. Part of the garden extends into the forest where there is always a cool breeze.
