A quite extraordinary property, an 8 bedroom medieval village house built into the ramparts of the city walls. The renovation of this property by the current owners has been a labour of love and the interiors have been totally rebuilt using reclaimed materials from the original property but adding 21st century comforts such as under floor heating and modern bathrooms.

This is a home from home. Relax and enjoy the sleepy life in a french village with easy access to the modern world and excellent cuisine.

Accommodation detail

The house has external walls & arrow slits dating back to the 13th century, but now encompasses all modern luxuries. The natural stone floors are heated, the en suite bath/shower rooms are marble lined with heated towel rails. The cinema has 4 chaise longues which accommodate four in luxury or 16 as seats.

The marble lined heated swimming pool is built into part of the original moat & has a retractable roof. The terrace furniture is teak & luxurious.

The furniture is a mix of classical French & English, collected by the English designer who has been involved in every aspect of this stunning restoration.

About the location

The house is situated on the edge of a  sleepy hill top village, it has a bakery and two small general stores. 5km away is the town of Lezat sur Leze , which has all amenities and a supermarket. For more serious shopping Toulouse centre is 40 minutes away.

The nearest airports are:

Toulouse Blagnac (45 minutes away: Directions from Google Maps)

Carcassonne (90 minutes away: Directions from Google Maps)

By car

Have a look at www.viamichelin.com and put in 09210 where it asks for a city/postcode. You can also use the route planner. If it gives you a list of names please select Ariege, St Ybars

It will take about 10 hours from Calais, with driving breaks.

Additional price information

Reductions are possible for all rentals in excess of 1 week. A changeover day of saturday is preferred but other days can be accomodated outside peak season. For winter rentals a large reduction is offered if the pool is not required to be heated. We will endeavour to meet any special requirements arranged in advance. Our aim is for you to have the holiday of a lifetime.
