Chalet Jolyvue is a chalet style apartment situated only 5 minutes walk (500 yards) from the charming and unspoilt centre of Les Contamines-Montjoie, France. The ski chalet apartment can be rented during the winter for skiing and during the summer for hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor pursuits.

Les Contamines is a traditional, unspoilt, Savoyard village, with an enviable gastronomic reputation, situated on the slopes of Mont Blanc. Renowned for its excellent snow record, with 120km of piste, un-crowded slopes and only a short drive from Megeve and St.Gervais (all included in the Evasion ski pass). When linked (scheduled for 2010), this will be Europe’s largest ski area.

The chalet apartment is located in the most sought after area of Les Contamines, facing South-West with magnificent views from the balcony, across the valley to Mont Joly. Surrounded by trees and a small stream the situation is idyllic and only minutes from superb alpine walking. The renowned long distance walk, the GR5 and the Tour de Mont Blanc pass a stone’s throw from the chalet.

The chalet apartment is fully equipped and can accommodate 5 people in 3 bedrooms + 2 on a sofa bed. There is off road car parking, and a garage/cave to keep your skis/hiking boots/mountain bikes in the basement.

Ski-lifts are approx. 3-4 minutes drive and there are large free car parks at the base of the lifts. The ski-bus also stops right outside the chalet (Frasse Milieu) at the beginning and end of the day during the ski season.

Les Contamines is only 1 hour from Geneva airport and there is a TGV station only 15 minutes away.

Chalet Jolyvue is an apartment on 2 floors located within a traditional chalet separated into 5 such apartments. It has its own external first floor access, sloping timber ceilings, a large south-west facing balcony and stays wonderfully cool in summer and warm in winter.

The chalet apartment is built to a high standard. It is totally self-contained, very quiet and peaceful, tucked away from the road on the edge of a wood and feels like a stand alone traditional chalet.

How to get here

Les Contamines-Monjoie is easily accessible by air, rail or road. The nearest international airport is at Geneva which is only one hour drive by car. Several budget airlines fly from many of the major UK airports direct to Geneva.

• A coach service (SAT) also operates between Geneva and Les Contamines.
• A shared taxi service can meet your flight and transport you directly to Chalet Jolyvue.
• To drive from Calais takes about 7-8 hours (driving time) and the route is all motorway except for the last 10 miles on the D902.
• There is a TGV train service to Le Fayet, about 15 minutes from Les Contamines by SAT bus.
