In four separate stunning gites, Les Coindries can cater for 18 - 20  people in quiet rural surroundings. With a total of 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, heated pool and Jacuzzi this is the perfect place for a wonderful holiday for two or a full family get-together for 20!

Accessible within a 6 hour drive from Calais, a 4 hour drive from Caen or Le Havre, Les Coindries is also well served by daily flights from Stansted to either Tour or Poitiers about 40 minutes away.

Accommodation detail

La Maison Campagnarde is a large beautiful traditional French farmhouse built in the late 18th century. It has been restored lovingly and luxuriously with its oak beams and wooden floors beautifully crafted and finished and its large bedrooms traditionally furnished to a high standard.

Large luxurious 4 bedroomed, 3 bathroomed - (2 ensuite) country farmhouse tasefully modernised, retaining many original period features and antique furniture. The substantial dining-kitchen has a large woodburner and 7 ring gas/electric range.

The ensuite bathroom has a rolltop bath as well as a large walkin shower.

The newly furbished downstairs double bedroomed 'suite' comprises of an ensuite bathroom and bedroom, plus a living room with facitiy for an additional single bed.

About the location

The nearest village is 10 minutes walk (3 mins by car) with a boulangerie, epicerie and bar/restaurant. Richelieu is 7 mins by car and the charming town of Chinon is a leisurely 30 minutes drive through rolling hills and vineyards. The famous Fontevraud Abbey and Futuroscope are 30km away, and many wonderful chateaux are within a radius of 15 km

Richelieu our local town, is a wonderful example of an unspoilt and largely original medieval walled city of great charm and character. The main square recently redeveloped and restored to its original 15th century style, features cafes, bars and shops. Banks and restaurants are down the little streets which lead to hidden properties straight from the days of the Cardinal who founded his domain and built the city in the early 1600's.

The whole area is a haven and an antidote from the stresses of modern life, with few cars and many little roads to explore it is a cyclists and walkers paradise. There are many beautiful types of woodland with defined paths and easy access and a few minutes away is a splendid nature trail build on the former railway which ran from Chatellerault to Loudon.

Les Coindries has a large (11m x 5m) heated swimming pool surrounded by a substantial paved sun terrace with solar shower and sun-loungers, tables and chairs. In addition there is a day room with drinks fridge and pool accessories. The pool is walled off from the private gardens within which is a separate area featuring the Jacuzzi.
