Lovely Secluded Villa with Swimming Pool

Our property, Villande, is a family home set in one acre of peaceful, wooded garden with its own large pool.

The villa is on the edge of the charming village of Villardonnel, nestling in the foothills of the Montagne Noire. There are spectacular views of the Pyrenees on the walk from the villa to the village centre. The villa is only a twenty minute drive from the unique medieval city of Carcassonne.

You will find large supermarkets in Carcassonne and the village butcher's meat is excellent and he sells wine produced from his nearby vineyards.

Holiday Accommodation at Villande

Villande, our country villa is a well equipped family home and comprises:

• Kitchen - fully fitted
• Lounge  - large and comfortable. This room is very spacious with afeature fire place and access to mezzanine. In the lounge there are CD's, DVD's and plenty of books. From the lounge, French Windows open onto a veranda, running the full length of the house, which is ideal for hiding away from the heat of the mid day sun.
• Dining Room - adjoining the lounge, with large table which seats 8, with sliding patio door to front garden.
• Three bedrooms - two double and one twin bedroom, all with good quality linen and hand towels.
• Mezzanine - area with seating and double futon.
• Bathrooms, 1 bathroom with shower over bath. 
• Shower/Utlity room - newly created for 2009. Shower, Handbasin, WC. washing machine and tumble dryer.
• Separate toilet

Outside

The Veranda opens onto the rear garden and pool area. The property sits in its own one acre garden with mature trees.

The swimming pool is in a secluded area of the garden facing south and surrounded by pine trees it is the ideal place to relax and swim. Please note that the pool shelves gently to approximately 1.6m deep, with steps at the shallow end.

We also have table tennis, pool games etc. 

The Black Mountains can be viewed from the back garden. From the lane at the front of the house are spectacular views of the Pyrenees.

About Villardonnel in Aude, Languedoc Roussillon

The villa is located in delightful village of Villardonnel which is a twenty-minute drive from the mediaeval city of Carcassonne. Villardonnel is a quiet village which is in the foothills of the Black Mountains surrounded by vineyards and forest. To the south, the Pyrenees are viewed and to the north the Montagne Noire. It is truly beautiful countryside that surrounds this home.

In the centre of Villardonnel is the village shop, bar, restaurant butcher and post office. There are numerous walks available in the countryside surrounding the villa. There are many places to explore and visit from this area:

• The Pyrenees: one hours drive offering numerous activities.
• The Mediterranean: La Franqui, Leucate and Narbonne Plage are all within an hour, offering miles of sandy beaches.
• Spain: Two and a half hours drive and you are in Spain, a little bit further and you could visit Barcelona.
• Andorra: The principality is within two to three hours drive.
• Cathar country: There are many castles and fortresses surrounding the area; Lastours and Saissac are both within 20 minutes drive.
• The activities lake at Les Montagnes, en route to Mazamet, is within 30 minutes drive.
• Carcassonne: Twenty centuries of history have lead to the well-known city of Carcassonne being listed as a World Heritage site, along with the Canal du Midi. Behind the walls of the mediaeval city there are shops, restaurants and bars and the Canal is a place where you can relax, hire boats, ride bikes or take walks.
• Markets: Most towns have market day. In Carcassonne they have one on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The region is famous for being at the heart of Catharism and is an idyllic area, rich in history, culture, beautiful scenery, warm welcoming people and good food and wine.

How To Get To Villardonnel in Aude, South of France and the Riviera

• The property is accessed by Road 20 minutes drive from Carcassonne, on the route to Mazamet.
• Carcassonne airport has regular Ryanair Flights to UK, Ireland and Brussels. Car hire is available at the airport.
• Toulouse is approximately 85km, airport access is good. Scheduled flights come into Toulouse via Paris, Jet 2 flies direct from some UK airports.
• Perpignan airport is approximately 75km. BMI Baby, Fly be, Ryanair and Air France all have services to Perpignan.
