Old Dairy in Delightful Charantaise Countryside with Pool

La Veille Ferme, Beneteix is set in the delightful Charantaise countryside. This beautiful French farmhouse and The Old Dairy gite has been lovingly and tastefully renovated by your hosts Robert and Julia. They offer high class gite and chambre d’hote accommodation.

Just minutes away are the pretty towns of Confolens and St Junien. Visit the Richard Coeur de Lion route Chateau at Rochebrun only 5 minutes drive. Cycle around the forests of Brigueiul or Etagnac. Fish in the local lakes or on the Vienne. Wine taste in Cognac or hunt for that beautiful dish in Limoges. Take the children to Futurascope only 1.15hrs...or visit our local park 25 mins from here. Come taste the Charente/Limousin, you wont want to leave!

Holiday Accommodation at The Old Dairy Gite

The accommodation for the Old Dairy comprises:

Ground floor

  • Kitchen / living / dining room - a lovely, light open plan room with ample comfortable seating for all. The 2.5 seater sofa converts into a "proper" double bed. There is a dining table to accommodate all and a breakfast bar to the kitchen area. The kitchen is newly fitted with all the mod cons to make your holiday easier.

Stairs lead to the bedrooms.

First floor

  • Bedroom 1 - the master suite comprises of a super king sized four poster bed, ensuite shower room with massage shower and walk in wardrobe.
  • Bedroom 2 - a twin bedroom with 2 metre wide beds, an ensuite shower room with massage shower cubicle.

Both bedrooms are large enough for an addition of a cotor childs bed, if required. Highchair and stair gate are available on request.

About Saulgond in Charente, Poitou Charentes

The property is situated 1.5km from the small village of Saulgond in the tiny hamlet of Beneteix. We have a local baker and shop in Saulgond and the village of Brigueiul has bars, restaurants, pharmancy and other amenities. The nearest large towns are either St Junien or Chabanais for a wider selection of restaurants, bars banks and supermarkets. Cognac is just a 1 hour drive and the local vineyards are 20 minutes away. The property is ideally situated to visit the Limoges porcelain factories or the historic Plantagenet routes. Limoges is just 30 minutes away and Angouleme with its Roman connections is an easy 1 hour drive.

How To Get To Saulgond in Charente, South West France

By air: The nearest airports are Limoges (30mins), Angouleme (45 mins) & Poitiers (55 mins) with daily flights from/to UK airports

By rail: TGV to Angouleme or fast train to Limoges.

By road: A 20 to Limoges then N141 towards Angouleme.
