Home description

A large Bourgeoise house in a very rural setting with a larger than normal, 10m x 6m pool, for exclusive use, the pool is illuminated for those evening dips. Relaxing garden and shaded dining areas. Outside lighting for evening dinner. A small selection of home grown produce - pick your own. The barbecue area is ideal for watching the sun go down and then enjoying a bottle of wine with friends. Although we don't bar children, the area doesn't offer any facilities or entertainment for them. We offer you a tranquil place to relax, unwind, sunbathe and just chill out.

As Stated below French spoken, this is limited but adequate.

10m x 6m pool, for your exclusive use, including towels & "toys"- maintained daily. Basket ball net. Indoor table tennis. Large area for frizbee, football etc. Barbecue area with fantastic views & stunning sunsets. 600 hectare forest. Lakes within walking distance. Wonderful photographic & painting opportunities. Interesting insect life and daily sightings of buzzards - an outing usually includes an encounter with deer an occasional wild boar, fox, red squirrel or badger. The cows next door pay a regular visit & my 2 cats look forward to visitors.

The Retreat comprises:

Ground floor

• Kitchen - is very spacious and there are 4 eating places including the barbecue area where you can enjoy stunning sunsets.
• Reception/dining - is typically old french with a wood burning stove and sky TV
• Bedroom 1 - has 2 single beds
• Shower room

First floor

The bedrooms are all very comfortable, spacious and individually decorated.

• Bedroom 2 - with a double bed and 1 single bed and en-suite
• Bedroom 3 - with double bed
• Bedroom 4 - with two double beds
• Shower room

About the location

The property is situated in a very rural setting with rolling hills to the northwest & a 600 hectare forest to the south. The nearest restaurant is 2.5 miles, the nearest shops - including supermarkets are 7 to 8 miles - the largest towns are 15 miles. Cities, Toulouse & Tarbes 1 hrs drive. Lakes are within walking distance. Markets are held every day within 7 to 15 miles including a typical French market, including animals at Samatan. Situated midway between the Mediteranean and the Atlantic  the drive is approx. 2.5hrs.

• Toulouse airport 1hr. - Pau 1hr 20mins. - Carcassonne 1hr. 45mins.
• Trains TVR to Toulouse, local train to Boussens - train station pick up.
• Road  - scenic route or motorway - most people who travel by road use Sat Nav.
• Car hire or use is essential.
