Two Self Catering Cottages in Converted Barn with Pool
Welcome to this lovely converted barn in the delightful village of Salignac, in easy walking distance from the tourist office, village shops, restaurants and bank, and yet peaceful and private. The barn is divided into a romantic one bedroom cottage (including a 4-poster bed with views of the medieval chateau), and a 2 bedroom cottage with many original features. For joint bookings, the soundproof adjoining door can be unlocked.
Each cottage is self contained, with its own private patio, including barbecue, and joint access to the garden and pool. Each has all modern conveniences, but keeps the character with exposed beams and stonework, and rustic furniture. There are lovely views all around - across the medieval village, the garden and pool, and to the chateau and countryside beyond.
This beautiful area of France has something to offer everyone, from prehistoric cave paintings through medieval chateaux to beautiful gardens and pilgrimage sites. Outdoor activities include walking, canoeing, fishing, horseriding and many more. There are cultural events throughout the year, but especially in summer, including a drama festival in Sarlat, many local markets, festivals and flea markets. Dining out is wonderful and varied, from pavement cafes to upmarket restaurants, with local specialities including duck, foie gras, walnuts and goats cheese, and of course many local french wines.
