Home description

Antiques Breaks at Coye are hosted by well known BBC Antiques Roadshow experts. Spend five days in the company of like minded antiques enthusiasts for a series of talks, lectures, chateaux and gallery visits with some of the U.K.'s most respected antiques specialists. 

Painting Holidays are tutored by professional artist and tutor Ron Bowen, former head of the world renowned Slade School of Fine Art in London.

Bed and breakfast holidays are held in the Chateau and self catering holidays are in the pretty Pigeonnier.

Chateau Coye is stylishly and comfortably furnished throughout with Art & Antiques.  There are a number of rooms available for guests including:

• Grand formal salon
• Smaller more intimate salon
• Atmospheric oak panelled dining room with inglenook fireplace,
• Large hallways with illusion tiled floors
• Well stocked library 

Bedrooms (6 double, 2 twin and one single bedroom) have en-suite facilities, are furnished with antiques and beds are made up with fine and antique linens.  Coye has appeared in numerous magazines and publications, including; Homes & Gardens, BBC Homes & Antiques Magazine, The Guardian, Saga Magazine, The Saturday Mail, Artists & Illustrators Magazine, Living France amongst many others.

The Chateau is set in nine acres of grounds with swimming pool within the tranquil Chalosse countryside.

About the location

Chateau Coye is set in nine acres of grounds with gardens, woodland, orchards and a good sized South facing swimming pool.  The surrounding countryside is very tranquil with no immediate neighbours, however the towns of Hagetmau and St. Sever are close by and have all amenities, including supermarkets, restaurants, cinemas and weekly markets.  Mont de Marsan, the capital of the Landes, is a 20 minute drive away and hosts many events including Flamenco Festivals, Course Landaise (bull jumping) etc.  During the summer months there is a fete almost every weekend in the vicinity, with those at Mt de Marsan, Hagetmau and Dax being particularly worth visiting. 

There are many things of interest locally, including Chateaux, wine tasting, horse riding, spa towns and every conceivable water sport.  As the area is close to the Basque country and Spain there are many Spanish influences in the food, architecture and customs, and Gascony is thought by many to be the gastronomic capital of France with duck and foie gras being the local specialities.  There are many good restaurants including the Michelin starred Eugenie les Bains being only 20 minutes away.  

The area is convenient for both the Pyrenees and the beaches of the Atlantic Coast and Biarritz and the Cote Basque, and St. Sebastian in Spain a 90 minute drive.
