Two Beautifully Restored Houses Set in the Vendée Countryside

La Maison en Pierre and La Vieille Maison have been beautifully restored and are set on the edge of the unspoilt village of St Juire Champgillon. 

The extensive gardens have been landscaped and include an 8.5m x 4.6m heated swimming pool with decked area with sun loungers, along with plenty of space for the children to play in safety. There is picnic and barbecue area close under the welcome shade of three large, mature walnut trees. 

A children's play area comprising of swings & a slide is also provided and ball games and badminton can be enjoyed on the extensive lawns. A large vegetable and fruit garden is on hand for anyone who gets their relaxation from digging! (Or maybe just a little gentle watering). 

A small courtyard garden is attached to the house and is perfect for daytime relaxation, barbecues or evening drinks once the kids are in bed.

Holiday Accommodation at La Maison en Pierre

The farmhouse is located on the edge of the unspoilt village of St Juire Champgillon. It has recently undergone a complete renovation, bringing back many of the original features - such as the lovely stonework.

The accommodation comprises:

Ground floor

  • Large lounge / dining area that can comfortably seat 10 guests. You will also find a wood burning stove here - ideal for those chilly winter evenings.
  • Second lounge that is used as a games room, with a Playstation 2 and Free Secure internet access. The games room also has a double bed that can be used as extra sleeping accommodation
  • Kitchen is fully equipped with a range cooker, dishwasher, microwave and pine table and chairs.
  • Separate utility room with a washing machine.
  • Shower room
  • Separate toilet

First floor

Upstairs you will find 4 large bedrooms.  All bedrooms are en suite - with either a shower or bath, and there is plenty of wardrobe space for all your needs:

  • Two twin rooms

There are also 2 cots available for young children.

About Ste Hermine in Vendée, Pays de La Loire

La Maison en Pierre is a 2 minute walk from the picturesque village of St Juire where you will find a bar/cafe, a small shop and an excellent restaurant, as well as a hairdresser and the Mairie, where postcards and stamps can be purchased. Fresh bread is delivered to the village 3 times a day, so a local baguette is always available.
 
The village hosts a small, yet popular local produce market on the 1st Sunday morning of the month and every Sunday morning in July and August. St Juire is known for its free art exhibitions hosted during the summer months. It is surrounded by deserted farm tracks that are perfect for easy and safe cycling and walking.
 
A well stocked supermarket is within a 5 minute drive at Sainte Hermine, where bars, tabacs, chemists and boulangeries/patisseries can also be found. For those seeking a little nightlife, there is also popular night-club.

How To Get To Ste Hermine in Vendée, North West France

La Maison en Pierre is situated in the South Vendée, close to the towns of Chantonnay, Luçon and Fontenay Le Comte and is easily accessed from the A83 motorway. We are within an hours drive of the airports at La Rochelle and Nantes. Car hire is available at these airports.
