About Auvillar in Tarn-et-Garonne, Midi Pyrenees

Located just outside the medieval village of Espalais and 2km from Auvillar a listed beautiful village of France which offers several restaurants (one of which is Michelin rated).  Newsagent, small supermarket, butcher, baker, hairdresser, doctor, dentist, pharmacy, post office, museum, historic features, frequent festivals and Sunday farmer's market.

4km from Valence D'Agen the local market town which has banks, supermarkets etc and in August a fantastic sound and light show based on one hundred years of life on the canal the river Garonne which flows through the town.  Bars and restaurants are plentiful, Tuesday and Saturday markets.

Centred in good wine growing country - Bergerac, Brulhois, Buzet, Cahors, Duras, Fronton, Gaillac, Madiran, St. Sardos and not too far from St Emilion, Sauternes and of course Bordeaux.  The nearby town of Eauze is renowned for its Tariquet wine and Armagnac.

The rose city of Toulouse, home of great rugby, is only an hour away and the medieval city of Carcassonne is reached in 90 minutes.  There are many more interesting places to visit whether for shopping, culture, sport or stunning scenery e.g. Agen, Albi, Cahors, The Dordogne, Moissac, Montauban, Nerac.

The Mediterranean sea, Atlantic ocean and the mountains of the Pyrenees can all be reached by car in about 2 hours.
