The property is located in the pedestrian center of the medieval hilltop village of Ramatuelle, from which there are beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding countryside. There is a bi-weekly market, many restaurants, bars and small shops. 

This historic maison de village has recently been renovated with latest amenities, yet maintaining beautiful ancient features, and decorated with antiques. Le Poulain offers guests peace and a provençal living experience, whilst being within 10 minutes of St Tropez, 5 minutes of Pampelonne beach.

The Le Poulain townhouse on the Rue du Centre in Ramatuelle is a two bedroom home situated over two floors in the old pedestrian center of the village. The house, which originally dates from the Middle Ages, was restored with care in 2008, in the spirit of an old provençal home, using old materials and honoring the home's existing ancient elements whilst providing modern amenities.

The property has two entrances, allowing access to each of the floors. One of the entrances passes through an ivy, wisteria and bougainvillia passageway. There is central electric heating, which makes the property rentable throughout the year.

Ground Floor

The main entrance from the rue du Centre leads to a small hallway.

• Bathroom - located to the right of the hallway, fully renovated and tiled with ancient Jerusalem stone. There is a large modern shower cubicle, behind glass doors, a wash basin with storage space above and below the sink, WC.
• Living room/dining room - the hallway leads to this bright area with outdoor views of a courtyard below and the old village. Below the massive ancient wooden ceiling beams, the area has been tiled in old Salernes tommette tiling. Furnished with a sitting area and closet supplied with books and games. Free wi-fi internet access.  Antique dining table and Conran chairs. A spiral staircase descends from this area to the lower ground floor.
• Kitchen - in modern open plan style, is adjacent to the dining area, and fitted with Bosch stovetop, oven and extractor, Miele dishwasher and washer-dryer, large Liebherr fridge/freezer, coffee maker, all pots, pans, plates, cutlery, etc. 
• Double bedroom - located a few steps above the living room area, with an antique double bed and two large fitted closets with recovered old provençal doors. Beautiful old wooden beams above-head  display unique patina. Similar outdoor view as in lounge area.

Lower ground floor

• Large double bedroom - under ancient arched ceilings, with old stones appearing in white crépis walls. Views of inner courtyard, and secondary entrance to house through cosy planted passageway.  Satellite TV and video player. Storage closet with vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron.

About the location

For those seeking the beach, the famous Pampelonne beach (some 9 km long) is only 5 minutes away. Here in the summer, you will find lots of private beach clubs, as well as long expanses of public areas. Equally as far are the small criques in the Cap Camarat area, where you can walk along the cliffs, and stop at a quiet, clear bays at the sea.

Around Ramatuelle, there are wonderful walks in the hills, up to the mills overlooking the St Tropez peninsula, and winding roads for scenic bike rides. The pretty medieval villages of Gassin and Grimaud are nearby and the busier St Tropez is within 10 minutes of your base. Easy access to St Tropez avoiding bay-side road.

How to get here

The house is situated in the centre of the village close to all the amenties. Parking is available near to the property.  From the autoroute, one should exit at Le Luc, driving through La Garde Freinet and La Foux.

The largest airport in the area is in Nice, whilst there are more limited flights to Toulon (40 minutes away) and La Môle (20 minutes) from various European cities.
