Old Stone Cottage in Large Landscaped Gardens with Pool

La Coste

Nestling in rural countryside overlooking a walnut grove, this old stone detached cottage provides spacious accommodation, has independant access and all its facilities are for the sole use of the guests. Set in large landscaped gardens there is a 8 x 4 metre swimming pool for exclusive use of guests, with plenty of sunbeds, chairs and parasols. A  barbecue is provided. To rear of the cottage is a large private seating area. At the front is a vine covered shaded patio area.

Although not isolated it is private and provides an away from it all location for a relaxing holiday.

We are in the Lot close to the Dordogne boarder with the Dordogne river being 5.5km away. There are numerous places of interest including medieval towns such as Sarlat, Domme, Rocamadour, La Roque-Gageac, caves, chateaux and museums close by in this unspoilt part of France.

The cottage, La Coste, is a converted detached stone cottage and comprises:

• Double bedroom - large room with door leading to the garden

• Large living/dining room comfortably furnished including a sofa bed. There is a TV with English programmes a CD and DVD player and selection of music and films. A sweeping staircase up to the galleried landing with exposed beams

About Fajoles in Dordogne, Aquitaine

The cottage is situated in a rural location. The countryside in the local area is gently undulating wood covered hills, green fields with grazing animals and crops of wheat, maize, vines and tobacco.

We are in the Lot close to the departmental boundary with the Dordogne, in the centre of the Sarlat, Souillac, Gourdon triangle. We are very close to all major tourist attractions and approximately 3.5km from the Dordogne border , with the Dordogne river being just 5.5km away.

Places of interest within easy reach include Sarlat La Canada (magnificent medieval town, a must place to see), Domme (medieval village set high on a rocky peak with panoramic views of the Dordogne River), Rocamadour (medieval village clings to the side of a steep valley, a place of pilgrimage for hundreds of years), various chateaux, caves, museums to name just a few.

There are weekly markets in Fajoles (in peak season), St Julien De Lampon, Gourdon and Sarlat and many more in the area.

There are many fetes and festivals during the summer in the surrounding towns and villages.

We are 4.7km from small village of Masclat (boulangerie/shop and 2 restaurants), 8.3km from St Julien De Lampon (restaurant overlooking Dordogne river, cafe/bar, boulangerie, bank, post office and chemist) and 9.9km from Gourdon (lively medieval town, many restaurants, all facilities).
