Au Riverain

Above Vieillevie and within a few minutes walk of the shop with internet café, restaurant and bars and is Au Riverain. It is a new house but built in the traditional style of local houses.

Vieillevie is probably one of the most pleasant of all the Lot valley villages. It sits in a huge valley bowl and soaks up the sun all day to allow palm trees, banana trees and the like to flourish in abundance. Always 2 or 3 degrees warmer with its mini Mediterranean climate is a huge attraction.

This cottage enjoys magnificent views over the whole valley with the sun from first to last light. There is a heated 8 x 4 metres swimming pool adjacent to the tiled sun terrace in front of the house . All this sits comfortably with landscaped gardens and lawns totalling over an acre and a half. Other sitting or sun bathing areas around the house enable total seclusion and when the time comes for shady moments a pergola above a wooden deck is also by the house.  Everywhere within the grounds you can see and hear the river tumbling along 200 metres below.

Access is via three French windows from the terrace leading into

• A magnificent tiled lounge and dining area with the latest TV and DVD playing through a Sony home cinema system.
• The kitchen has all you could wish for and also looks onto the terrace. A large inglenook fireplace and log burner surrounded by oak beams add a certain comfort to the room.
• Behind the kitchen is a utility room with toilet, washing machine and fridge freezer to supplement the smaller fridge in the kitchen.
• Up the beautiful oak staircase are the double bedrooms.
• Two double bedrooms share a bathroom.
• A third double bedroom is en-suite.

This cottage is ideal for winter lets and family Christmas holidays. There is a heating supplement between October and the end of May.
