Mon Petit Abri (My Little Refuge) designed exclusively for adults, ideally for two, but equipped for up to four, is an attractively converted barn with the Pyrénées as its dramatic backdrop. The stunning view across the garden and beyond the village church towards the mountains is what you see from the moment you open your eyes until you close the shutters at the end of another fun filled day.

Mon Petit Abri comprises:

Ground floor

• Kitchen / living / dining room - open plan room with well equipped kitchen area. Attractively decorated to a high standard with exposed beams, stylish black tiled floor, satellite TV with DVD, CD player and a collection of books and games for your amusement ! Bed Settee, gas cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and a good selection of crockery, glasses etc. for your culinary needs. French doors leading to your terrace barbecue area and shared garden with open scenic views.

Wooden staircase to:

First floor

• Double bedroom - a large room with double bed, overhead fan, high ceiling with exposed beams and bags of character and looking out to more beathtaking views of the Pyrénées
• Ensuite shower room - light and airy room with shower and point for shaver or hairdryer

About the location

Mon Petit Abri is set on the edge of the sleepy little village of Verdets which has the Pyrénées as its dramatic backdrop. Oloron Ste. Marie only ten minutes away has a pethora of restaurants to suit every purse. There are cafés from which to watch the world go by, tea salons that sell cakes and pastries to die for and créperies to snack from.  The "old town " is delighful and you may be here for the jazz or music festivals throughout the summer (the one's in the park are often free!). Perhaps a concert or performance in the modern theatre or ancient cathedral will catch your eye. There are all kinds of fétes and markets happening throughout the year in the surrounding area.

Have fun and relax at the Aqua-Park (10 mins from Verdets), wine tasting at the local vineyards, explore the pretty mountain villages, take the little mountain train at Artouste (the highest in Europe) or enjoy a spa treatment.

Walk part of the famous pilgrim route of St Jaques de Compestelle part of which passes through Oloron or one of many tracks that give you panoramic views of the Aspe, Ossau or Barétous valleys.

• Pau - 45 minutes - a beautiful city with a mix of old and modern
• Biarritz - 1 hour 30 minutes - glamorous classy and fun
• Bayonne - 1 hour 30 minutes - famous for its ham and chocolate
• Spain - 50 to 60 minutes - have lunch and do some shopping

By Road: From OLORON STE. MARIE take the D9 marked Ledeuix and Monien until you see the D27 marked Verdets .
