Holiday Cottage in South Brittany

A recently converted small stone barn in rural south Brittany, 2km from village with shops, 10km from nearest town. Modern facilities but old Breton charm for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

Holiday Accommodation at Ti Maen

Ground Floor:

  • Living room with original beams, tiled floor, a settee and easy chair, coffee table and tv/dvd.
  • Kitchen. The kitchen extension opens off the living-room and is fully fitted with fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob,  micro wave, dining table and chairs.

Stairs from the living-room leads up to

First floor:

  • Double Bedroom with exposed original roof beams, wood floor and double bed.
  • En-suite bathroom with a shower, basin, WC and washing machine.

The Garden:

The back door from the kitchen opens onto the patio which has a permanent barbecue and outside wood table and chairs.

About St Vincent Sur Oust in Morbihan, Brittany

La Gaudinaie is near Redon (10km) a market town with plenty of shops and supermarkets, a pedestrianised old town with 16th and 17th century houses dating from when it was a thriving port. It has a weekly market, part indoors where you can buy everything from clothes to live eels ( a local speciality).

There are are several good restaurants and a number of bars and brasseries. From the old port river cruises and boat hire can be arranged. Also nearby is La Gacilly (8.5km) a market town with lots of art & craft shops, restaurants, boat hire on the River Aff and the Yves Rocher Foundation where perfumes and beauty products can be purchased. The town also has its own botanic gardens.

For those who want more activity there are plenty of way-marked trails for walking or mountain-biking, canoeing and rock climbing at the local beauty spot of the "Ile-aux-pies" and fishing in local lakes and rivers-the rivers Oust and Arz and the Nantes-Brest canal are all within walking distance.

The coast is about 35 minutes drive away with a number of small resorts, the city of Vannes situated on the Gulf of Morbihan with its numerous small islands is 45 minutes drive and the well-known and busier resorts of La Baule and Le Croisic are also within  reach, near the walled city of La Guerande and the Briere National Park.

How To Get To St Vincent Sur Oust in Morbihan, North West France

The property is off the D764 which from Redon is signposted to Malestroit. It is easily accessible from the western Channel ports on good dual carriageway roads from St Malo (139kms), Caen (270kms), Le Havre (350kms) and Roscoff (240kms).

You can fly-drive from a number of English airports to Rennes (66kms), Nantes (95kms), Dinard (140kms) and Brest (236kms).

The high-speed train (TGV) takes less than 3hrs from Paris to Redon.
