The Chateau is situated on a hilltop with magnificant views over the valley and its vineyard. It is surrounded by 11 ha of private forest, meadows, orchard and the vineyard.

The wonderful palm tree and lavender garden has a luxurious 6 x 13 m swimming pool, a large terrace and a pool house with a fully equipped outdoor summer kitchen.

It is ideally suited to families or couples with accomodation for 8-12 people.

An idyllic, tranquil and calm environment and yet only 10 minutes from all amenities and the buzzing medieval town of Bergerac.

Holiday Accommodation at La Closerie

The house is very spacious and can easily accomodate 8-10 persons. Accommodation comprises:

• 2 large double bedrooms
• 2 large double bedrooms with an extra bed in each.
• 2 newly re-furbished luxurious bathrooms
• A spacious dining room opening onto the morning terrace.
• A magnificent tower living room with gallery library.
• The kitchen is large and modern with comprehensive facilities. There is also a conservatory barbecue area at the rear of the property.

Outside

There are several large terraces and many possibilities for outdoor activities such as table tennis, golf practice, cycling and walks in the private forest.

There is broadband wi-fi access throughout the property.

About Creysse in Dordogne, Aquitaine

The nearby town of Bergerac is just a couple of minutes away. It has a good range of shops, pharmancies, banks and supermarkets, as well as a number of bars, cafes and excellent restaurants.

Most recent movies can be seen in the 7-screen movie theatre.

Every Wednesday and Saturday morning the town hosts a popular and colourful open market. In the centre of town, the old city dates from the 12th to the 16th century. The narrow flagstoned streets and squares are closed to cars. In this part of town, don't miss the "Cloitre des Recollets", which overlooks the Dordogne river.

The Bergerac area is renowed for its vineyards. The wines which come from here include red and white Bergerac, cotes de Bergerac, red Percharmant, and the sweet whites, Monbazillac and saussignac - the latter best appreciated with foie gras. We will be happy to suggest local vineyards to visit, where the wines can be sampled.

Just minutes from Bergerac, there are several castles open to visitors. These include the 16th century Chateau de Monbazillac and its vineyards, the medieval Chateau de Lanquais, the Chateau de Montreal and the Chateau de Bannes.

About the Region

Within a 20 minute drive from La Closerie is the medieval city of Issigeac, and the fortified bastide of Monpazier, which dates back to the Hundred Years War. Eastwards up the Dordogne river, there's the medieval village of Beynac, which clings to a hillside dominated by a historic castle. Across the valley, there 's the Chateau des Milandes, the Chateau de Marqueyssac with its magnificent gardens and the Chateau de Castelnaud, which has an impressive exhibition of military equipment from the Hundred Years War. The beautifully restored medieval city of Sarlat is worth a daytrip in itself.

There is a wealth of important prehistoric sites along the Vezere valley: Bara-Bahau, la madeleine, Les Eyzies with a superb museum and not-to-be missed Lascaux, site of the famous cave paintings.

The city of Perigueux, which gave its name to the Perigord region, is within a 45 minutes drive. There are lots of great shops in Perigueux's pedestrian area, as well as plenty of interesting architecural heritage from roman and medieval times.

St Emilion is 60 km west of Bergerac, en route to Libourne and Bordeaux. It is a great place to take a picnic under the "Tour du Roy"- ideally accompanied by a St Emillion Grand Cru from one of the numerous wine shops to be found in this medieval city.

How To Get To Creysse in Dordogne, South West France

By Air

The closest airport to Dordogne, France is Bergerac (EGC), just 10 minutes away, and it recieves flights from Southhampton(SOU), Bristol (BRS), Birmingham(BHX), Stanstead(STN) and Liverpool(LPL) provided by Ryanair and Flybe.

From London Heathrow or London Gatwick or London Luton to Bordeaux.

Bordeaux is 1 1/2 hours drive from la Closerie.

By Car

From Calais 10 hours , from Le havre 8 hours.

By Train

Eurostar from waterloo via paris to Libourne 8 hours with a direct from Libourne to bergerac ( 1/2 hours)
