Maison Rouge and L’Ecurie are two beautiful cottages located in a wonderful woodland setting in the heart of the Loire Valley. Each is immaculately presented and extremely well furnished to provide excellent accommodation for up to 6 people plus cot. Can be booked separately with a shared garden and pool, or taken together for up to 12 people/two families wanting to holiday together with the desired privacy of independent accommodation.

Accommodation detail

La Maison Rouge, and its cottage L'Ecurie at Maison Rouge, is set in magnificent woodland and offers immaculately presented accommodation with each cottage sleeping up to six/seven people, plus cot.

Having been lovingly restored and renovated, Maison Rouge and L'Ecurie retain many of their original features and are beautifully furnished and well equipped for couples and families alike.

Both cottages can be booked separately or can be taken together as one booking with L'Ecurie, making it ideal for two families or groups of up to 14 wishing to enjoy each others company yet with the privacy of individual holiday homes.

Each has its own private patio/garden area, as well as the use of the shared garden and pool, or exclusively if taken together.

Maison Rouge - 3 Bedrooms / Sleeps 6/7

From the entrance of Maison Rouge you enter:

• The spacious open plan hallway and kitchen/dining area. The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob, as well as a microwave, washing machine and dishwasher and two fridges and freezer. The table in the dining area seats up to eight people and a stable door leads out to the garden.
• The large sitting room has a wood burning stove and ample seating for up to ten people. There is also a flatscreen TV with DVD and UK satellite and also a CD player and a selection of books, toys and games. Patio doors lead out onto a private rear terrace where there is a very large table which can comfortably seat 6-12 people. A BBQ is available for guests' use. Off the sitting room, is:
• A twin bedroom with bunk beds providing a sleeping arrangement for two singles and an en-suite shower room and WC.
• Upstairs is the master bedroom with king size bed and dressing area and en-suite shower/WC. A door from the master bedroom leads out onto a small alcony area with table and chairs. Completing the layout, is:
• The second upstairs bedroom featuring two single beds and a single futon chair provides bedding for an additional guest and/or cot. An internal door leads to the en-suite facilities.

L'Ecurie - 3 Bedrooms / Sleeps 6/7 

Entrance to L'Ecurie at Maison Rouge is from a side stable door which takes you into:

• The kitchen/dining area, which is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, oven with hob, microwave and dishwasher. A washing machine, further fridge/freezer and iron/ironing board are located in the laundry room at the rear of the adjoining barn.
• The sitting room features a wood burning stove, UK Satellite TV/DVD, CD player, and a range of books, toys and games. Patio doors lead out to the gravelled area to the front of the house. Off the sitting room is:
• A spacious twin bedded room
• A separate shower room/WC.
• Upstairs the large master bedroom has a double bed and ample dressing area.
• The second double bedroom is also located upstairs together with
• The main bathroom which features a bath with shower over, and WC.
• Outside there is a large table and chairs and private terraced area with a BBQ.

Both Maison Rouge and L'Ecurie are very child friendly, and stair gates, high chairs and a travel cots are available, and a baby bath and potty can be provided on request.

Outside

In the garden which is surrounded by lovely woodland, there is a swimming pool with terraced area and large lawns. The swimming pool is equipped with a safety alarm and decorative fencing provides extra peace of mind.
Bikes are available for use by guests at both L'Ecurie and La Maison Rouge, as are outdoor games including boules and table tennis.

About the location

Located in the heart of the Loire Valley, about 3km from the charming town of Longue-Jumelles and the village of Mouliherene, Maison Rouge and L'Ecurie are set in peaceful woodland surroundings being on the edge of the Forest de Monnaie. 

The many magnificent chateaux and vineyards for which the region is famed are close by, and the fashionable riverside towns of Saumur and Chinon are just 20 minutes drive.

How to get here

Maison Rouge and L'Ecurie are located 40km from Tours Airport and about 300 miles (a 4 1/2 hour drive) from Calais.

Additional price information

Our availability calendar is defaulted to show full availability because we may be able to offer alternative dates and other similar properties should Maison Rouge be booked for the dates you are interested. We encourage enquirers to contact us directly by email or phone and on receiving an enquiry between the hours of 8am - 10pm we aim to respond within one hour.  Please note however, that Maison Rouge is a very popular house and does get booked up early during the peak July and August months

Prices shown are based on L'Ecurie. Prices for Maison Rouge are an additional £100 per week.
